S# NSN | 31.5” Barrel | Training rifle should not be fired w/ live ammo. J. Gifford marked on top of handguard. (Joseph Gifford 1909-1942 Corporal, USMC - 2nd Raider Battalion, carried aboard USS Argonaut. Joseph Gifford was Captured on Butaritari Island, Makin Atoll, taken to Kwajalein and executed. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Prisoner of War Medal) - More information can be found online. Names of all the places he went to stamped all over stock. Must have been U.S. Navy soldier on a boat |||| Condition: Very good. No finish on metal. Stock is beautiful and in excellent, solid condition; stock is varnished for preservation and display. Seems to be in excellent mechanical shape. No magazine follower/cover. Must see photos. Lots of history here! ||||| Class: Non-Gun
