The wood of the handle is handcrafted Manzanita burl with Turquoise inlay. Very rare, durable and expensive. The wood is not dyed or treated in any way. Just finished with old world oils and waxes that bring out the full richness and beauty of the wood. One of the most important features of these knives is that the species of wood in the handles are always very dense hardwoods. This is critical because the blades are very thick and weighty, and need large, dense handles in order to balance properly.
