In Nebraska alone there are 85 high school trap shooting teams, and each spring almost 2,000 high school and junior high school students gather in Doniphan, Nebraska for the state meet. Ten percent of the Creighton Prep student body shoots on the Creighton Prep trap team. The team was the state champion in 2004, 2005 and 2011 and was also the National High School Trap Shooting Champion in 2004. They have finished in the top 10 in the state five out of the last seven years.
