Group of six straight razors handled in high relief yellow celluloid depicting various decorations. Made by H. Boker & Co, J.R. Torrey Co., Wade & Butcher, and others. Circa 1890 to 1920. Condition (Good - Near Mint Plus).

Lot of 5: Ivory Razors.

Lot # 180 (Sale Order: 177 of 797)      

Includes a W. Smith Sligo circa 1800 carved ivory straight razor. There is a slight hair line on front scale by forward pin. Fine penning surrounds escutcheon. Second is a Kend Allizon circa 1820 carved ivory straight razor. Both scales are flawless. Nice penning. Third is a James Rodgers Approved Sheffield circa 1840 smooth white bone handled straight razor. Both scales are perfect. Great penning decoration which highlights a #2. Fourth is a Pabkins Patent Agarstristan India Steel circa 1830s carved ivory razor. Nice penning around escutcheon. Back scale is damaged by forward pin. Last is a J.A. Henckels Solingen Zwillingswerk circa 1890s ivory straight razor bolstered in sterling silver. Both scales are perfect. Some gold etch decoration on blade. Condition (Good - Mint).

Handle is in perfect condition and in working order. Set includes seven near mint to mint razor blades. Fine example! Circa 1820; a Vining boxed integral seven day razor set. Integral handle is hand carved ivory with beautiful penning. Handle is perfect without cracks or chips. Set includes seven near mint to mint razor blade, all are signed. Circa 1820; and an unsigned boxed integral three day razor set. Integral handle is genuine ivory with great penning. Handle is perfect without cracks or chips, and is in working order. Set includes three unsigned blades which have virtually no step in the tang. Box is in fair condition. Circa 1790 - 1810. Condition (Excellent).

7 Day Razor Set in Fitted Hallmark Sterling Box.

Missing 'Tuesday' razor. Box is hallmarked sterling which is profusely covered and engraved with high relief scroll and sunburst. Bottom of box is marked "H.P. Truefitt LTD. 13214 Old Bond St. Burlington Arcade & Brighton". All six razors are identical and fine examples of hallmarked sterling. They are profusely covered and engraved with high relief scroll and floral design. Maker is A&J Zimmerman and has dates marks from the 1890s. Condition (Near Mint - Near Mint Plus). Size 6 - 3/4" x 4 - 1/4" x 1 - 1/2".

Second is a Midely circa 1820s early pressed horn straight razor depicting bust of Dewitt Clinton and the Grand Canal. Blade is Damascus with nice figure. Handles are warped and have worm damage. Third is a Rodesn Champion circa 19th century straight razor handled in genuine ivory. Handle has no decoration. Last is a Tang Stamp aluminum straight razor commemorating Exposition Universelle Paris 1900. Blade is very corroded. Condition (Fair - Mint).
