Provenance from present owner: "I have information about the doll's history that I'm happy to share. She was purchased at John Wanamaker's in Philadelphia and given to Hepsy Wells, by grandmother's cousin. I'm guessing Hepsy was born sometime in the 1880s. At some point Hepsy gave the doll to my aunt Frances Walker, who was a longtime collector and member of UFDC. I inherited the doll upon my aunt's death in 1993 and she was shipped from Wayne, PA to my home in Oregon". Frances Walker was an early and prominent collector of note in the Philadelphia area....more
