A wooden-framed one-room grocery with Art Nouveau style cornices and trim, has original cream and green painted finish with gilt accents, very fancy cornice with centering faux-clock, an attached shelf on each side wall and 16 spice cabinets on the back wall that center a working back door and two corner niches. There is a matching free-standing counter with gilt medallion that supports an early tin scale, and the store is fitted with antique cans, stoneware wine bottles, wooden ware, and wonderful original wrapped bolts of cotton fabric on the side walls. The rooms have original wall and floor paper with ceiling edging, and are amply-furnished with maple wood pieces from Schneegass & Sohne, including marble-top buffet, hall mirror and two tables, along with upholstered chairs, bed, towel bar, and more. Accessories include bear-skin rug, clock under glass dome, telephone, bed warmer, needlepoint carpet, two fine glass-prism chandeliers, ormolu-framed prints and pewter service and amber glass goblets. A feather Christmas tree stands in the corners with little dolls and toys scattered beneath, and there are four antique bisque dolls including three children happily living there. Standing upon a green velvet covered platform is a bisque-head girl with brown glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms. When wound, the little girl turns her head from the side, nods, and then alternately lifts the feather-fan she holds in her right head, fanning herself, and lifts the book of Fables, with blue velvet and bone cover, as though to read, while music plays. Condition: generally excellent, music and motion function well and charmingly. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4 (head). Comments: Leopold Lambert, with Jumeau bisque head, circa 1888.
