4/18/2011 - Proxibid Exceeds Company Records in the First Quarter

Omaha, NE – April 18, 2011 – Proxibid, the world’s largest real auction marketplace, today announced that the company exceeded previous company records for the first quarter, making the first quarter of 2011 its most successful quarter to-date.  Online sales in the first quarter of 2011 increased nearly 25% over online sales recorded in the first quarter of 2010.  Proxibid hosted a record-breaking 2,230 auctions in the first quarter of 2011, including 901 auctions in the month of March alone, which represents a more than 20% increase in the number of auctions hosted in the first quarter of 2010 and a more than 15% increase in the number of auctions hosted in March 2010.

Proxibid brings bidders and auction companies together in the most active and secure online environment in the industry.  More than 2,500 auction companies bring their auctions online with Proxibid because it is the most trusted and highest trafficked online resource for bringing buyers and sellers together online.  Bidders choose Proxibid because the Company offers access to the most inventory of any other online provider.

“We started with Proxibid back in its infancy when live Internet sales were not in the mainstream as it is today,” said C.E. Vaughan of Vaughan Auction Group.  “We have seen not only Proxibid’s growth but a tremendous amount of growth in our own Internet sales at each of our live auctions. Our total Internet sales at each auction has increased as much as 100-200% in total dollars sold as well as in qualified online bidders. Proxibid has been a terrific partner for our business.”

Proxibid ended the first quarter with the greatest month-over-month increase in new bidder accounts in the history of the Company, and a 50% increase in Web traffic since December 2010, alone.   In the first quarter of 2011, Proxibid recorded a 40% increase in new bidder accounts created over the number of accounts created in the first quarter of 2010.  Furthermore, Web traffic has accelerated significantly in the first quarter, with a very healthy 72% increase in site visits over the number of site visits recorded in the first quarter of 2010.

“Proxibid continues to attract new bidders and auction companies at a staggering rate,” said Ryan Downs, president of Proxibid.  “Web site traffic, event registrations, total inventory and online sales have increased dramatically in the first quarter.  We expect these numbers to continue to increase in the second quarter as we introduce new, value-added products and services for our bidder and auction company communities.”
