Beginning on Saturday January 21, a new auction service will open in the historic Saxonville section in Framingham MA. The business is located in the famous Mill building built in 1847, a location originally known as the Roxbury Carpet Factory. The 3000 square foot facility at 1650 Concord St. is comfortable and convenient to the Mass Pike and Route 9. The auction will be managed by the ProxiBid system. The virtual auction facility will be operated by Gary Sohmers, proprietor of Wex Rex Collectibles, and frequent talk show host/guest, who appears as an appraiser in collectibles, toys, pop culture and memorabilia on the Emmy nominated PBS TV series “Antiques Roadshow.” The facility will be having online auctions on Saturdays, featuring a variety of products including antiques, collectibles, household and other items. The first virtual auction on Saturday January 21st will feature a large selection of antique and collectible toys, dolls, trains and action figures, along with a collection of vintage radios, television sets and accessories. There will also be small antiques, comic books and box lots. The auction will begin closing at 7:00 p.m. with 5 lots closing every 5 minutes until the end of the 250 lots. Preview will be on Friday January 20th between 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday January 21 from Noon and 7:00 p.m. There is a 10% buyers’ premium, and there are many lots for dealers who sell in shops or online. Bidders can preview the auction in person, but there will not be a live in person auction element, as the facility is unable to be used as a live auction hall due to the building inspector's inability to allow us an occupancy permit. Registration can be online, by phone or in person during preview hours, and bidders can also bid by phone or email during the closing. Items can be picked up or shipped to the winner for the additional shipping costs. February 11th will feature ephemera, paper, books, art and paintings at auction.
