This pistol was part of a Special Edition run of 5000 Ruger Automatic's, which marked the end of "Standard Automatic" production and were produced exclusively in 1982. This gun is from a former firearms wholesale distributor who purchased a large quantity of these limited production pistols in 1982, simply for investment purposes and were not offered for sale. The wholesale distributor is no longer in business due to the passing of the business founder and is being sold by his heirs. SPECS: Full stainless steel construction with polished finish, "Bill Ruger" signature engraved on the top of the receiver, 4 3/4" barrel, black checkered grips with red Ruger logo medallion inlay, dovetailed notch rear sight and pinned front sight. This gun comes in the original special edition wooden dovetailed case, original red vintage-style box with paperwork and original cardboard sleeve. CONDITION: This pistol is believed to be new-old-stock/ unfired, will have some various light surface tarnish (box wear), has a perfect sharp/clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Ruger Standard Automatic Pistol MKI and its offspring (MK II, MK III, and MK IV) are a series of rimfire semi-automatic pistols introduced in 1949. It is marketed as a reliable .22 caliber rimfire and is produced in both casual sport and target shooting configurations. The Ruger Standard Automatic line of pistols are still made today and have become the most accepted and successful .22 caliber semi-automatic pistols ever produced. The original "Standard Automatic" model was produced from 1949-1982. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders. PLEASE READ ALL TERMS BEFORE PARTICIPATING: There is no live crowd, no phone bidding, no left bids and we do not accept payment through the mail.
