ANTIQUE GOLD GILT SHAVING MUGS FELDA CHINA GERMANY

Two antique shaving mugs with the "Felda China, Germany" maker's mark; one in black and one in white. Both include a name applied in gold gilt, centered on the body opposite the handle. The mug with a lack body bears the name "C.H. Mayo." The white body mug bears the name "B.M. Doyle." Both mugs are in good to very good condition with no chips or cracks evident. Both show some use wear removal of gold along the rim, base, and handle.

COLLECTION OF FOUR ANTIQUE SHAVING MUGS

Lot # 2281 (Sale Order: 279 of 822)      

A collection of four antique shaving mugs, 2 with the "KPM, Germany" maker's mark, one with the "Dresden China" mark, and one with no mark. The two KPM mugs are of similar design with names and bands applied in gold gilt. One bears the name "R.P. True" and the other "R.Y. Merrill." The unmarked mug is patterned in very similar manner to the "Merrill" mug and bears the name ""P.A. Wilson." The Dresden mug has no gold gilt, but rather has a white body with a green slip fading into the with from the base and the rim. Adjacent to the handle on the left is a painted panel depicting a male Elk trumpeting (bugling) with a doe in the background. All four mugs are in good condition, showing use wear along the rims, handles, and bases. The Elk mug has two visible cracks at the rim and some water staining.

Half a dozen vintage high-end rare pocket knives lot includes; One Honest Abe 2-blade pocket knife marked "The Hunter II" etched on blade measures 9-inches with blade drawn, Case green and yellow swirl handle 2-blade pocket knife measuring 5'' in length with case symbol on handle, Unmarked ornately designed knife with butterfly on hinge of locket and Lapis Lazuli handle and no locking mechanism, Rare W.German made marked 'Hubertus Solingen Werkstoff Nr. 4109' etched on the face of blade with intricate relief pattern on locket measuring 8'' in length with blade open very scarce design from the highest-end Solingen maker, lastly vintage Case 2-blade knife with green horn handle bearing old Case insignia in handle and etching of Elephants on the longer blade, All items are in very good condition with no signs of pitting to blades or damage to handle or any other part of knife.

FOUR ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY PATENT MEDICINE BOTTLES

Lot # 2293 (Sale Order: 291 of 822)      

A collection of 4 patent medicine bottles. One rectangular base "Hood's Sarsaparilla" bottle from "C.I. Hood's Apothecaries, Lowell Mass." The bottle has a double ring finish, "45" over "5" centered in the basal Pontil scar, and measures 9 inches tall by 3 inches wide by 1-3/4 inches deep. One rectangular base "Dr Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery" bottle from "R.V. Pierce M.D." of "Buffalo, N.Y." The bottle has a double ring finish, off-center basal pontil scar without marks, and measures 8-1/2 inches tall by 3 inches wide by 1-3/4 inches deep. One rectangular base "Ayer's Pectoral Cherry" bottle from "Lowell, Mass." The bottle has a double ring finish, "A" centered in the circular basal pontil scar, and measures 7 inches tall by 2-1/4 inches wide by 1-3/4 inches deep. One rectangular base "Watkins Trial Mark" bottle from the J.R. Watkins Medical Company, Minnesota. The bottle has a flat finish, "7" centered in the base without a visible pontil scar, and measures 8 inches tall by 3 inches wide by 1-3/4 inches deep. All four bottles are clean and made from natural, non-clarified glass with the characteristic light green-blue color. All four bottles have side seams, embossed lettering, and numerous distinct bubbles through the glass matrix. The "Dr. Pierce" bottle is machine made and dates to roughly 1910. The remaining three bottles have distinctly hand-applied finishes and date from around 1880 to 1900.
