27.25 inch , 6.8mm thick togari hamon blade, 8 inch Kengyo tang signed and stamped and 1.25 inch Chu tip, standard WWII pommel and tsuka, flower tassel loop with tassel, standard brass habaki marked “156”. Overall in very good condition with some finish loss and finish cracking to saya and oxidation on the blade along the shinogi.

MID 18TH C. GERMAN BAROQUE STYLE SMALL SWORD

Lot # 8357 (Sale Order: 357 of 575)      

German or Prussian made Baroque-style small sword, circa 1720's to 1760's. Bronze hilt, with relief rococo scroll and foliage to all components including grip and knuckle bow. 31 1/2 inch blade with decoratively engraved floral scroll on ricasso. Sword is of the type carried by a German officer of the time, and also often served in the Colonial and Revolutionary era America. Grey patina to blade, with some spots of darker staining. Hilt is excellent, with fittings remaining tight but for minor play in guard. Some of original silver plating to hilt remains in protected areas. Overall very good example. Accompanied by COA from Faganarms.

Revolutionary War era 18th Century German made hanger, circa 1767-1777. Brass hilt with stirrup knuckle bow, and wire wrapped leather grip. 28 inch curved blade, with single edge and narrow fuller. Medium pitting to most of blade, with light grey patina. Hilt remains tight, and grip is very good for the age, with full coverage. Overall very good example. Accompanied by COA from Faganarms.
