3 NOTEBOOKS LT C.V. FAULK 3RD PLT "C" IWO JIMA

Lot # 2102 (Sale Order: 102 of 346)      

This group includes 3 notebooks written by Lieutenant Charles V. Faulk of the 3rd Platoon "C" company, in the notebooks are the strength reports, platoon roster, and inventory needed from the landing on Iwo Jima to March 2nd. The roster includes name, rank, next of kin, and individual reports (MIA, KIA, WIA, whether evacuated or grave marking). One of the books has a list of daily casualties and field promotions. Also included in this lot are two Japanese bring back pouches that appear to have been used to hold the notebooks while on Iwo Jima. Overall in good condition.

USS KEARSARGE OIL ON CANVAS YUKIO SETOGUCHI

Lot # 2104 (Sale Order: 104 of 346)      

Yukio Setoguchi framed oil on canvas of the USS Kearsarge (CV-33) aircraft carrier at sea. Kearsarge was an Essex-class carrier that was commissioned in 1946 and served until 1970. Work signed and dated 1954 in lower left. Frame measures approximately 24 by 16 inches.

ADOLPHE NIEL FRENCH BATON MUSEUM RECREATION

Museum-grade reproduction of the marshal's baton of Adolphe Niel, Marshal of France in 1859. Blue felt surface with 30 brass eagles. Buttons are shiny with little to no patina, inside liner is satin and intact with "woo" and "38" printed on it. Some fading on the cuffs and slight mothing present.
