IMPERIAL RUSSIAN MODEL 1881 DRAGOON OFFICERS SABER

Tsar Nicolas II-era Imperial Russian Model 1881 Dragoon Officer's saber. Blade measures just over 30 inches, with with broad shallow central fuller and two narrow deep fullers below the spine. Ricasso stamped with an "A" and a crowned "A. Crown and cipher of Tsar Nicolas II finely engraved on blade, with Imperial Russian coat of arms on reverse, and Zlatoust armory mark in Cyrillic on spine. Brass hilt with "D" knuckle bow, decorated with floral motif, and Tsar Nicholas cipher near pommel. Blade, hilt, and scabbard are all in very good condition. This lot has a reserve.

WWII Imperial Japanese Shin gunto sword, signed Yoshiaki, in Mino Provence, and dated 2nd month of 19th Showa year (Feb. 1944). 25.5 inch blade, with brass tsuba, and leather over samegawa tsuka. Fuchi, tsuba, and seppa slightly loose, retaining latch does not hold, and minor paint loss to steel saya, otherwise good condition.

JAPANESE AIKUCHI WITH SAYA & SIGNED KOZUKA

Lot # 2259 (Sale Order: 258 of 346)      

Excellent detail and quality sword mountings married to this aikuchi. Aikuchi features 15 cm samegawa wrapped tsuka with flowerpot menuki (each measures approximately 4.6cm long); blade appears to be later (probably Chinese) reproduction(11cm tang, 36.5 cm total length); iron aikuchi tsuba (30.7 by 47.1 by 7.1 mm) rusted with a serpent-dragon on the edge; matched brass seppa; habaki with excellent red-brown patina has a visible weld line on the front (measures 27 mm high by 29 mm wide, 11.5 at the widest; internal measurements 7.8mm at widest, 1.04mm at narrowest and 22.9 mm across) and black fulchi with gold rim (34.7 by 18 mm internal, 38.48 by 21.9 mm outer). Saya has intricately carved copper-alloy octopus (tako) kurikata, excellent black lacquered finish, six-pointed star geometric kojiri. Kokuza features wave decoration and some gold overlay; gokatana (7cm tang, 18.5cm total length) signed (translated) and heavily ground. Conditions and ages of each part vary. Overall in very good condition.

Blade is very good, and ivory grip shows minor age yellowing, but is free of cracks or chips. Scabbard shows minor "door dent" towards tip, but is otherwise good. Overall very good condition. ORIGINAL SS MARKED MINIATURE DAGGER HARD CASE

Original SS-marked miniature dagger hard case. Made of wood, with black leatherette covering. The inside top contains a soft off-white satin pillow and the bottom is covered in plum colored satin (2 inch tear in fabric around edge). The Double Runic Symbol of the early "SS" is marked in silver on top of case. Measures approximately 13.5 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 1.75 inches tall. Good condition with natural wear to edges, cracked on top near the SS symbol (as though maybe stepped on, and looks like it was taped or something stored on top of it). Two original brass clasps. Nice presentation piece. This lot has a reserve.
