Custom FN Mauser Magazine Sporting Rifle

Lot # 926 (Sale Order: 926 of 1029)      

serial #9754, 250-3000, 22" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain 97% maker-applied blue finish with scattered oxidation stains and a bit of silvering at the muzzle; the FN action is dated 1951 under the stock. The bolt body and handle have been cleaned bright and the handle is slightly modified for scope clearance; the bolt release lever has been nicely jeweled. The custom plain pistolgrip Monte Carlo walnut buttstock rates very good plus with lovely fiddleback throughout as well as a Zebrawood forend tip and pistolgrip cap and a flared left side cheekpiece; there are light handling marks and dings here and there. serial #621, 30-06, 21" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain 97% original blue with silvering at the muzzle, scattered oxidation staining and light wear here and there; the bolt has been cleaned showing a bit of tarnishing, the bolt release is nicely jeweled and the handle has been lightly modified for scope clearance. The custom plain pistolgrip Monte Carlo walnut buttstock rates very good with lovely figure featuring an ebony forend tip and gripcap and shows several light dings and dents as well as light storage damage spots. Buttstock is outfitted with a Pachmayr Decelerator brown rubber recoil pad as well as a pair of swivel studs. Rifle is outfitted with Weaver bases and included are a pair of 1" rings. Custom Remington Model 721 Bolt Action Rifle

Lot # 928 (Sale Order: 928 of 1029)      

serial #117599, 300 Savage, 24" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain 97% original blue finish with evenly scattered remnants of oxidation staining nearly throughout with a series of added drilled and tapped holes on the left side of the receiver as well as a scope mount affixed; the bolt body is jeweled however slightly worn and shows more oxidation staining along the bolt handle which has been cleaned to gunmetal gray. The custom checkered pistolgrip walnut buttstock rates very good and appears to have been put together by two separate pieces of wood, for there is a seam running from both sides of the butt up to the wrist, much resembling a two-piece Arisaka buttstock, showing light dings and handling marks here and there. A 1" section of the stock has been modified to accept a rear receiver peep sight mount, however no mount is present. Rifle is sighted with a brass bead sporting ramp front sight, the rear dovetail is empty and the aforementioned scope mount is affixed to the left side. (157852-1) {MODERN} [Charles Lord Collection]

The gold-plated saddle ring is present in its stud. The straight grip walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent with a few light dings and handling marks here and there. Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine

serial #252388, 32 W.S., 20" barrel with a very good bore with even frosting in the grooves. The metal surfaces bear an overall mottled pewter-brown patina with moderate oxidation stains and pinprick pitting showing traces of original blue in the protected areas; there is no saddle ring present in the stud. The straight grip walnut carbine buttstock and forend rate about very good showing scattered dings and dents, a missing 1" sliver from the upper right side of the grip and dark rust staining along the edges. Custom Winchester Model 1885 High Wall Rifle

serial #108374, 22 LR, 28" medium heavy barrel with a very good bore showing even shallow pits. The barrel has toned to a dark pewter-brown patina with traces of thinning blue and remnants of oxidation stains. The frame has been cleaned to bright gun metal gray with speckled oxidation stains and light polishing marks; the lever retains strong blue finish. The straight grip custom buttstock with added comb and grooved forend rate good to about very good, the buttstock has been sanded and shows several dings and dents throughout and the sling swivel plate is missing from the toeline. Buttstock is affixed with a Pachmayr red rubber recoil pad. Mounted to the barrel via steel target blocks is a Wollensack 4x target scope with a crosshair reticle and very good optics; the scope body shows lightly flaking finish throughout. The checkered pistolgrip Monte Carlo stock rates very good featuring a flared left side cheekpiece with several dings and dents and a few minor bruises; the brown rubber factory buttpad has some drying cracks. The standard trigger and standard hammer retain robust case-hardened colors with light operational wear. The diamond checkered walnut factory target grips with silver S&W medallions rate good with scattered light dents and scratches plus moderate to heavy scuffing along the edges of the butt. Smith & Wesson Third Model Single Shot Perfected Target Pistol

Lot # 942 (Sale Order: 942 of 1029)      

serial #4045, 22 LR, 10" barrel with an excellent bore. The serial number for this gun falls into the second model series but is definitely a third model frame. The metal surfaces have been refinished to factory quality by an unknown artisan and retain about 99% blue with a few handling marks. There is no factory refurbish marks present but the quality of the work is excellent. The trigger and hammer retains robust case-hardened colors with light operational marks. The un-numbered diamond checkered walnut factory extension grips with silver S&W medallions rate fair to good with both screws missing; heavy dents, dings and scuffs along the front edge of each panel with light handling marks scattered over the remaining surfaces. The pistol has the correct factory adjustable rear sight and Patridge front sight. Lock up of the barrel to the frame is "tight as a drum" and the gun has been converted to single action only. Basically this gun just needs the grips replaced to match the nice refinish job. (87856-8D31211) {C&R}

The cocking knob is in near excellent condition with cavity mold number 18 but the number is worn and difficult to read. Remington Model 1900 Boxlock Double Ejectorgun

serial #129120, 12 ga., 28" matted rib damascus barrels choked modified and improved cylinder having bright excellent bores. The barrels display a lovely damascus pattern which is slightly toning to a pleasing brown color. The boxlock frame displays a mottled gray patina exhibiting some light scratches, oxidation stains and light traces of original case-hardened colors in the protected areas. The top lever and long tang triggerguard display a smoky gray case colors. The checkered walnut round knob pistolgrip buttstock and splinter forend rate near excellent as lightly refinished long ago displaying just a few very light handling marks. The buttstock is fitted with its original hard rubber widow's peak hard rubber buttplate that is slightly separating from the buttstock; it provides a length of pull of 13 3/4" with drops of 2" and 3". The gun features double triggers, automatic safety and ejectors. A very good example of a Remington Model 1900 with plenty of life left in it. (177802-2) {C&R}

Unmarked German Double Hammer Drilling

serial #2398, 16 ga x 16 ga x 30 CF, 27" matted rib barrels choked modified and full having very good bright bores with light pitting here and there; the rifle barrel has a very good frosted bore. The barrels have toned to an even brown patina having scattered surface oxidation and light scratches throughout. The breech ends display a nice geometric scroll engraving and are marked Ja Kruppshler Gewehrlaufstahl. The locks and frame are embellished in a detailed foliate scroll engraving having punch dot shaded background along with an engraved fox on the right lock and a deer on the left; the locks and frame have toned to a gray brown patina. The checkered walnut round knob buttstock with round left side cheekpiece rates very good displaying a few light dings along with a small chip on top of the right lock and having a 1/4" crack emanating from the upper tang. The checkered walnut forend rates very good displaying dings and scratches over a dark varnish. The gun will require mechanical attention as the extractors are not present. (177249-254) {C&R}
