Sig Sauer Model 1911 "Defending Liberty" Semi-Auto Pistol

serial #54A031702, 45 ACP, 5" barrel with an excellent bore. This gorgeous pistol retains about 99% original black finish beautifully enhanced with light wedges of gold colored scroll. The left side of the slide has a gold banner with "DEFENDING LIBERTY" and the right side is marked "1 OF 500" behind the serrations and a banner with "FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA" forward of them. The grips on the pistol are scrimshawed faux ivory with a black double border and wedges of loose scroll exhibiting Lady Liberty on the left panel and her outstretched arm and torch on the right. Aside from the embellishments the pistol features Novak style three dot Siglite sights that still glow, accessory rail, beavertail safety with memory pad, skeletonized long trigger with overtravel stop, checkered frontstrap, checkered flat mainspring housing and extended thumb safety to name a few. The pistol includes a factory hard case correctly end labeled and numbered to the gun, spare diamond checkered hardwood grips with Sig Sauer logo in like new condition, a pair of magazines with base pads, cable lock with a pair of keys, lubricant and a manual. Scarce Colt Third Generation Single Action Army European Model Revolver

serial #SA95486, 9mm, 7 1/2" barrel with an excellent bore. This unusual variation of the Single Action Army has class "A" factory scroll engraving with 25% coverage. The metal surfaces retain about 99% original nickel plate with no turn ring on the cylinder but there are areas of clouding on the cylinder and barrel. The revolver has un-numbered smooth rosewood factory grips manufactured by Eagle Grips with silver Colt medallions that rate excellent. All appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun and it appears as new in the box. The gun also includes a factory blue box with shipping sleeve that is correctly end labeled and numbered to the gun, manual, paperwork and a 1989 and 1991 Colt catalogue. Built in 1967, the metal surfaces retain about 97% original blue with scattered light scratches on the right side of the slide, assembly marks, a few tiny pits on the left front of the slide, minor oxidation blemishes limited edge wear and a few other handling marks plus the slide has toned to an even plum color. The checkered walnut factory grips with gold Colt medallions rate near excellent with minor handling wear. The pistol features a Patridge front sight and Elliason fully adjustable rear sight. The pistol includes an un-numbered factory box that rates about very good with edge wear and storage marks. Also included is a single factory magazine and a pamphlet style manual. The checkered factory finger groove rubber grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions rate excellent. This "big snake" features a serrated red ramp front sight and white outline Accro rear sight. The revolver includes a factory hard case and picture box shipping sleeve that is correctly end labeled and numbered to the gun, manual and paperwork. The hard case rates excellent but the shipping sleeve has two small sections several inches across that have fallen victim to rodent damage. This gun has seen some light use but remains in pleasing condition. The metal surfaces of this 1971 made revolver retain about 90% original blue with the grip frame starting to thin, edge wear, thinning finish on the cylinder, plus a turn ring and handling marks. The case-hardened colors on the frame remain strong overall, with the recoil shield diminishing and light oxidation blemishes along the bottom edges. The checkered synthetic factory eagle grips rate near excellent with a few light scratches. The grips and the cylinder are numbered to the gun. The screw heads show slot damage but the gun still times and locks up correctly. This lightweight Commander was manufactured in 1954 and remains in wonderful condition with 99% original blue and anodized finishes. The frame has toned to purple but the slide and other ferrous parts maintain their original deep blue color. The grips are replacement checkered rubber by Pachmayr and rate excellent. The pistol features a replacement Heinie high visibility serrated ramp front sight, the rear is a Heinie classic style all black sight in addition to a long-skeletonized trigger with overtravel stop and a beveled magazine well. Despite the improvements to the pistol does not appear to have seen much use. This gun has just enough modifications to make a great carry gun for those who prefer to keep it simple and like the peppy 38 Super. See 38 Super magazines in the silent auction. (88582-20) {MODERN}

This particular gun was commissioned in anticipation of a fishing trip where the local bears sometimes object to your presence. The stainless steel cylinder is polished with some minor scratches and very light turn ring. The remaining stainless steel surfaces have been given superfine glass bead blast finish that rates excellent. The Ruger pebble grain rubber Monogrips by Hogue rate excellent. This gun is as new in the box and features an engraved and etched gold filled American eagle on each side of the slide extending downward onto the frame. The wings are outstretched and the silver eagle heads are peering toward the muzzle with one of the legs clutching arrows visible on the right side of the frame behind the grips. The metal surfaces are finished in blue with 99% present but the slide is toning to plum and there are several small scratches on the left side of the slide. To further accent the pistol the sights, hammer, slide stop, magazine release, barrel bushing and grip screws are gold plated. The double diamond checkered factory hardwood grips with gold Colt medallions rate excellent. America Remembers and the remaining barrel address run along the top of the slide. The gun includes a beautiful French fitted hardwood presentation case with inset leather on the cover featuring a stamped gold and silver American Eagle with outstretched wings. The interior of the cover has a cloth American flag and the case is lined with a powder blue fabric. The right side of the slide has regimental badges of units under General Eisenhower's command with the words "OVERLORD" and "NEPTUNE" representing the land invasion and supporting naval forces. The left side of the slide has several regimental badges and two large "V"'s flanking "Onward to Victory in Europe / A grateful World Remembers / D-Day 6 June 1944". The double diamond walnut factory grips rate excellent. The barrel address runs along the top of the slide and is for the Armed Forces Commemorative Society. The metal surfaces on this lovely revolver retain about 98% plus original blue, the loss is due to a few light handling marks or a bit of rub wear here and there, primarily on the sharp edges of the frame and leading edges of the cylinder; the cylinder turn ring does not yet quite breech the blue. The bright-polished sides of the hammer remain brilliant and the face of the trigger is neatly checkered. Features Patridge style front sight and square-notch rear. The checkered walnut silver Rampant Colt medallion grips rate excellent to as-new, they are un-numbered but their fit is precise, the right grip with a very tiny ding at its butt. The revolver comes in its original purple-tone, hinge-top box, numbered to the gun on its underside. The box itself rates very good plus to near excellent with some minor scuffing and a tear at one end of the lid. There is no end label however there is a surcharge on the top mentioning the revolver is equipped with the "embedded head cylinder" (counterbored) for use with high speed and high velocity cartridges. Inside we find Colts "Shooting Suggestions" pamphlet and the test target numbered to the gun, as well as a synopsis of a Connecticut law requiring that people who sell pistols be licensed, it is in a small envelope with the West Hartford Police Department return address. The checkered hard rubber Colt logo grips rate very good plus with only light handling marks, they are scratch-numbered to a different gun but their fit is nearly perfect.
