18k Gold plated standard gauge train set was issued by M.T.H. in the year 2000 to honor the millennium celebration.This 5 piece Set is an extremely limited version of the President's Special Passenger Train Set. It sold for $2,800 when the price of gold was under $300 an ounce. A reproduction of the original "American Flyer Standard Gauge Presidential Passenger Train Set." it comes with the electric locomotive, Harry C. Ives Cub car, the Louis Marx Diner car, the Lionel Cowen Pullman car and the A.C. Gilbert Observation car all new in their original packaging. The set features 19 1/2" inch long locomotive modeled after the New York Central's PS2 box cab and the four matching passenger cars, each measuring 21 inches long, utilize a total of 12 interior lamps and feature brightly polished platinum on their six-wheel trucks. The Rolls Royce blue paint found on the original President's Special has been replaced with 18K gold plating resulting in a truly stunning standard gauge creation worth collecting and sure to increase in value as time goes on. Plated in 18k gold and trimmed with platinum plating. This train Set is all original and in the original factory packaging. Est Value: $3200-$3800
