NSKK Chained Leader Dagger-Early Double Oval Eickhorn Logo-Ground Rohm Blade

Lot # 171 (Sale Order: 177 of 271)

In excellent overall collectible condition. Nickel finish fittings with nickel grip eagle exhibiting the typical Eickhorn "High" neck. The reverse of the cross guard is ...more"Wm" district stamped. Early double oval Eickhorn logo and blade reverse exhibits grind marks indicating this example had the Ernst Rohm inscription. The obverse of the blade has a crisply etched motto still retaining a lot of the original dark factory burnishing. Black factory painted scabbard with NSKK leader center band that was a field applied upgrade upon promotion, which was a common practice for the soldier to keep his original dagger rather than purchase another factory produced example. The band is most likely of late war production as the rolled edging is not as defined as the edging on the upper and lower fittings. This would indicate to some collectors that the center band was applied post war. A few advanced collectors this was shown to indicated they believed it to have been period applied, but late war. The center band and upper and lower scabbard fittings appear to have traces of a gilt finish. Original late war plated steel hanger links having the standard 4 upper links and 5 lower links. Hanger clip is correct with correct details to the oak leaf motif. Links are correctly maker stamped on the reverse. Scarce example of an early ground Rohm Eichhorn NSKK dagger before the officer upgrade which more than doubles the scarcity! Please bid based on your own knowledge, expertise and/or research.

1936 Olympics Torch Bearer Souvenir Bisque Porcelain Statue

Lot # 174a (Sale Order: 181 of 271)

White porcelain statue depicting an Olympic runner with a torch containing a wick which could be lit.
