1962 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CUSTOM CONVERTIBLE

Lot # 1083 (Sale Order: 272 of 353)

This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in a Roman Red over cream interior and has massive power. Unlike most builds that start with modifying a stock car this one started with a race-winning 9-second blown and gas drag racer that was put back on the street. The fully built 468ci big-block engine features a polished Wieand 6-71 supercharger all-forged internals custom headers dual Holley carburetors and a Vertex Mag. A Powerglide automatic transmission sends power back to the narrowed Ford 9 rear end held in place by a triangulated 4-link. Up front a first-generation Camaro subframe with tubular suspension arms keeps the car on the straight and narrow. Billet Specialties Legacy wheels finish up a quality chassis build. The body was taken to bare fiberglass before being built back up to the gleaming Roman Red finish. All the brightwork was polished rechromed or replaced. No corners were cut on the bodywork inside; cream leather covers the seats dashboard hardtop headliner door panels and center console. The interior also features AutoMeter gauges and a Billet Specialties steering wheel.
