Meticulously maintained and garaged this two-owner Javelin SST was a running survivor before its recent professional preservation performed with assistance of an AMC expert. It retains 99% OEM parts; the few originals that were removed are included. A true time capsule. All factory body panels dash gauges wiring harness and connections welds even the original undercoating have been preserved. It retains all of its original exterior trim including bumpers stainless steel rocker panels and tinted glass with the exception of a new windshield. During its preservation the body drivetrain and mechanicals were fully disassembled and once reassembled the body was finished in show-quality Trans Am Red paint. This Javelin is powered by its matching-numbers 304ci 8-cylinder engine backed by an automatic transmission and has 91000 documented original miles (title reads mileage exempt). It comes loaded with factory options including power disc brakes power steering sport suspension air conditioning with modern refrigerant Dana rear end a later-model AMC AM/FM/cassette radio and 14? wheels wrapped in Michelin radial tires. This 1987 GMC Jimmy 4X4 was with the original owner in California until 2016. The Sierra Classic package was the highest trim level available and included additional side moldings a chrome grille surround a brushed instrument panel appliqu... and upgraded interior finishes. The fuel-injected 350ci V8 engine has recently been serviced and the rear main seal was replaced. The 4-speed 700R4 automatic transmission and transfer case were serviced as well and a new exhaust and shocks were installed. The hood and roof have been repainted all other paint and pinstriping is original. The 6-lug Rally-style wheels retain their chrome trim rings and the all-terrain tires have lots of tread remaining. The rear roof section is a removable. It is equipped with power windows and steering and the factory cassette radio remains in place. The carpets and the velour upholstery have been well-preserved.
