1969 AMERICAN MOTORS AMX

Lot # 699 (Sale Order: 118 of 347)

In 1969 the top performance model of the AMX was the 390ci 315 horsepower 4-speed combination referred to as the ?Go-Package? and that is the car as it was originally built that you see here today. Along with being the hottest model in the AMC line and tin the original color Big Bad Orange one of AMC?s three special high impact colors offered in limited numbers in 1969. Rich Rinke was the designer and builder of this mildly modified resto-rod AMX for his own personal use. Beginning with a good solid original car Rich did a complete bare shell up restoration and performed drivetrain suspension and braking upgrades to AMX while not disturbing the cars original good looks. One short drive in this ?Big Bad AMX? will demonstrate the results with shockingly fast responsive handling and secure braking experience unlike what you might expect in a car of this vintage. This car was built to be driven and enjoyed.
