American Eagle Model 1906 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, #48965, .30 Luger cal., 4-3/4'' barrel, blue finish, coarsely checkered walnut grips, with one period nickel-plated magazine. American eagle over chamber, ''DWM'' to center toggle link, extractor marked ''Loaded'', lower thumb safety position originally polished bright, with horizontal Crown-''N'' proofmarks. Considered uncommon with approx. 8,000 mfg'd in .30 Luger. Condition is good as refinished, retaining approx. 90% immersion type blue over light scattered pitting. Grips have been file checkered and show some oil darkening. Magazine retains approx. 60% nickel plating with light overall pitting; wooden base appears to be a later replacement. American eagle, serial number on the frame, and ''Germany'' markings have thinned considerably from polishing. Appears to be all matching with unnumbered sideplate. Weimar Era Navy Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, #6384a, .30 Luger cal., 4-3/4'' barrel, blue finish, straw small parts, checkered walnut grips, with one later Swiss type bright magazine with wooden base. 1916 date to chamber, ''DWM'' to toggle link, with large crown-''M'' naval proof to left side of upper frame. Barrel is unmarked. Condition is very good to near fine with some mixed numbers, retaining approx. 95% correct rust blue. Barrel appears to be a later immersion blue type. Rear sight is standard type for P.08 model and two-position Navy. Grips with light to moderate flattening and moderate oil darkening. Considered scarce with only 5000 mfg'd. Condition is good to very good retaining approx. 85% thinning and toning blue with most of the toning to front and backstrap.
