Cased Pair of Engraved and Gold Inlaid Colt Single Action Revolvers, by accomplished engraver John K. Barraclough, #SA35855 & #95930SA, .357 mag. cal., 4-3/4'' barrels, approx. 75% coverage in American scroll combined with textured diamond pattern and done in the general style of the world-famous Sears Roebuck & Co. Cavalry ''Cowboy'' revoler, as pictured in R.L. Wilson's book ''Steel Canvas''; five gold bands, gold border treatments to both sides of frames, with screwless ivory grips. Revolvers are featured in an award photograph of John Barraclough in the April-June 2004 issue of Engraver, page 13. Ivory grips were custom made by Nutmeg Sports of Tolland, CT. Accompanied is a hand-signed letter from the engraver, as well as a copy of Barraclough's presentation certificate of the James B. Meek Award for the outstanding contribution to the art of engraving. Condition to revolvers is excellent, appearing as new after their custom finish work. Some minor color bleed from red velvet liner to right grip panels is visible but detracts little. In French-fitted Moroccan leather covered presentation case. As shipped to Cherry's Sporting Goods, Marcy 7, 1984, with all features verified by factory letter, except this style case. Condition is excellent, appearing new and unfired. Ivory grips remain beautiful with just mellow toning. Presentation case appears near new with very minor repairs to bottom inside of lid. Original woodgrain box with Colt Custom Shop end label verifies these features. Glahn Pre-War Factory Eng'd Colt SAA

Outstanding Glahn Pre-War Factory Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #343280, .45 Colt cal., 5-1/2'' barrel, nickel finish, ruby-eyed steerhead pearl grips, as shipped to Wolf & Klar, Fort Worth, TX, Dec. 22, 1921. Although factory records do not indicate the name of the engraver, it was clearly done by Wilbur Glahn, with approx. 60% coverage of his light foliate style. Right grip panel is neatly adorned with a Texas style longhorn with two small red (presumably ruby) eyes. As the type of stocks is marked as ''Not Listed'' in the factory letter, these grips were probably carved by the retailer in Texas. Condition is excellent with very mellow toning to nickel, small flakes at muzzle, as well as at index line area of cylinder. Grips show only the slightest wear and possess a startlingly iridescence. Rare Factory Eng'd Colt SAA Revolver

Rare Factory Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver, with grips made from wood columns supporting the original Colt Dome, #SA91149, .45 Colt cal., 4-3/4'' barrel, blue and case color finish, with two-piece wood grips that were made from using a section of the old columns from the Colt Dome which was being restored at the time of this revolver's production. Factory information verifies that the inside of the grips are marked with a small Rampant Colt and Al DeJohn's signature. This gun has Type ''A'' engraving as executed by Denise Thirion. Revolver also features qualified screws that line up horizontal on the frame when tight, all having been processed on Colt Custom Order No. 3668.
