Mid-WWI German Artillery Holster and Shoulder Stock, with barrel-headed cleaning rod, maker's markings inside flap. Interior of holster is brown, exterior has darkened or has been dyed black at a later date. Back of holster shows modification from original combination stock configuration. Shoulder stock attaching iron is numbered 3355b. Condition is fine with moderate general crazing, but with tight stitching that shows much of its original brightness. Loose shoulder stock shows light to moderate handling marks with some corrosion to straw-colored lock switch, and darkening to wood surfaces. Est.: $300-$500....more

Japanese Baby Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol, by Tokyo Arsenal, with holster, #4762, 7mm, 3.5'' barrel, blue finish, straw small parts, checkered walnut grips, with one matching and one non-matching (#819) aluminum based magazine. One of the scarcest and most highly prized WWII Japanese semi-autos preferred by their general officers. Production began in 1903 with full production getting under way in 1909. Approx. 6450 mfg'd, with production ceasing in 1927. Condition is excellent with light wear to finish at forward area, minor toning to backstrap, and light wear at muzzle. Grips with minor flattening. Action is crisp, bore is bright. An exceptional Baby Nambu. Fine pigskin holster with light to moderate oil darkening overall; tight bright stitching shows some darkening from time. Kanji remains mostly legible to inside flap. WWII KIA Medal Grouping

WWII KIA Medal Grouping consisting of WWII clutch-back sterling pilot wings by Amico, Air medal, Victory medal, Pacific Campaign medal, and Purple Heart named to Orville Kirtland. Kirtland was in the 40th Pursuit Squadron, 35th Pursuit Group, and was killed July 11, 1942, on an intercept mission over Port Moresby, where Kirtland and several other pilots flying P-39s were engaged in combat, and Kirtland went MIA. He is interred at Ft. Bonisacio Military Cemetery, Manila, Philippines. Included is a brief downloaded Squadron history of the 40th Pursuit Squadron and some information regarding Lieut. O.A.
