WWII USAAF First Lieutenant Navigator Grouping. Named to First Lieutenant Roy A. Hoegh, of the 749th Bomb Squadron, 457th Bomb Group. (1) Distinguished Flying Cross. "1st Lt Roy A. Hoech" engraved on the reverse. (1) Air Medal. (2) Navigator Wings. Both marked Sterling. One maker marked by Amico. (1) Artillery Round Piece. (1) Dog Tag Set Named to Hoegh. (1) Studion Photograph of Hoegh. (5) 749th Bomb Squadron 457th Bomb Group Photographs. (6) US and Japanese Paper Currency. Various signatures. First Lieutenant Roy A. Hoegh served as a Navigator in the 749th Bomb Squadron, 457th Bomb Group. On June 14, 1944, Hoege's Plane, 42-97062, was shot down near Champdeuil, France while on a mission. Hoegh managed to evade the crash while 5 of his crew were killed in action and the other five were captured as POW's.

WWI - WWII US Army Signal Corps Brigadier General Legion of Merit, Medal, & Insignia Grouping. Named to Brigadier General Calvert Hinton Arnold. Includes Legion of Merit named to Arnold, Mexican Border Service Medal numbered 34586, WWI Victory Medal with campaign bars & packaging label, ribbon bars, officer rank insignia, Signal Corps collar badges, and a pair of DUI pins. Brigadier General Calvert Hinton Arnold was born November 23, 1894 in Swainsboro, Georgia. During WWI he served in the Georgia National Guard and was commissioned in 1917. In 1941 he was promoted to Colonel and held positions including Chief Signal Officer of the Southwest Pacific Area and Commandant of Central Signal Corps School. He was promoted to Brigadier General in January 1945 and retired in 1949. Calvert H. Arnold passed away on May 18, 1963 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Arlington, Georgia.

WWII USAAF 703rd Bomb Squadron, 445th Bomb Group Distinguished Flying Cross & Insignia Grouping. Named to 1st Lieutenant Ormond Sterling Sutter 0817783. (1) Distinguished Flying Cross named to Sutter. (1) Air Medal named to Sutter. (1) ID Bracelet named to Sutter. (1) Pair of Dog Tags named to Sutter. (1) Collection of Original Paperwork named to Sutter. Includes service records, orders, promotion papers, certificates, and more. (1) General Court Martial Trial Record named to Sutter, who was accused of going AWOL for one week in July 1945 while he was a training instructor. He plead not guilty but was convicted and was restricted to the limits of his post for three months and docked $100 of his monthly pay for three months. (2) B-24 Liberator & 445th Bomb Group History Books. B-24 book is hand-signed by USMC fighter ace and Medal of Honor recipient, Pappy Boyington on page 20. (3) USAAF Patches. (4) Photographs of Sutter. Also includes pilot wings, rank insignia, cap badges, leather name tab, and ribbon bars. Ormond Sterling Sutter was born on November 20, 1923 in Washington D.C. During WWII he completed 35 Combat Missions as a B-24 Liberator co-pilot with the 701st Bomb Squad, 445th Bomb Group before he was rotated home to be an instructor. Sutter passed away on August 6, 1985 and is buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.

(1) Air Medal named to Henry with one silver and one bronze oak leaf cluster. (1) Silver Star numbered 108762, unnamed. (1) Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, unnamed and unnumbered. (1) Military Merit Medal, unnamed. (1) 3rd Award CIB Badge (1) Miniature Medal Bar with Silver Star, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Merit Medal. (1) Jump Wing badge. (1) Lieutenant Colonel rank badge. (1) Pair of 21st Infantry Regiment Officer Collar Badges. (1) Pair of 21st Infantry Regiment DUI pins. Also includes WWII - Vietnam War campaign medals and ribbon bars. Lieutenant Colonel Lee S. Henry Jr. entered service in 1943. In 1944 he was assigned to the 104th Infantry Division and was later wounded near Eschweiler, Germany. He served in the Army of Occupation in Bavaria with Polish labor supervision units. In 1950 Henry was assigned to the 24th Infantry Division in Korea where he served as a platoon leader and company commander. During his time in Korea he was awarded the Silver Star for gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty without regard for his own life. After his service in the Korean War he returned to the United States until the Vietnam War where he was the Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment from March to June of 1966. He is one of the few hundred soldiers to be awarded the Combat Infantry Badge three times.

(1) Sterling Silver Aerial Gunner Wings. (1) POW Wood Chain Carving. (1) Photograph of Graff. Size: 10 1/2" x 7". (1) USAAF Staff Sergeant Sweetheart Pin. (1) Staff Sergeant Rank Patch. (1) 1944 German Bank Note Signed by fellow POWs. (2) 8th Air Force Patches. (1) Collection of Online Research Papers. On October 17, 1944 Otto R. Graff was the Tail Gunner in B-17G #43-38353 "Lili Marlene" on a bombing mission over Cologne. During the mission they were hit by flak and crashed near Ahrweiler, Germany. One crew member was KIA and the 9 others were taken as POWs. Graff was held at Stalag Luft 4 in Gross-Tychow, then moved to Wobbelin Bei Ludwigslust, and then to Usedom Bei Savenmunde, until he was repatriated at the war's end.

WWII USMC Marine Scout Bombing Squadron 132 Guadalcanal KIA Medal Grouping. Named to Captain William F. Spang. (1) Purple Heart named to Spang. unnumbered. (1) American Defense Medal. (1) European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. (1) WWII Victory Medal. Captain William F. Spang was born September 23, 1916. He graduated from Pennsylvania Military College in 1939. On December 1, 1942 Spang took off from Henderson Field, Guadalcanal in his SBD-3 Dauntless Dive Bomber #06662 on a mission to attack Japanese warships off the island. The attack group led by Major Joseph Sailer Jr. were unable to make contact with their targets and had to return back to base by nightfall. While attempting to land in the dark Spang crashed and was killed on impact, but his rear gunner survived. He was initially buried at the American Cemetery Guadalcanal, but was later reburied at Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery, Cape May, New Jersey.

(1) Named Distinguished Flying Cross. (1) Named Air Medal. (1) Pilot Wings Badge. Marked by LGB and Sterling. (3) 2nd Lieutenant Rank Bars. Two marked by NS Meyer, one leather construction. Includes reprints of research and declassified documents. 2nd Lieutenant Robert A. Blomberg was born in Hennepin County, Minnesota March 8, 1921. He served in the 445th Bombardment Group as a B-24 Pilot during WWII. He participated in the bombings over Gotha and "The Big Week". Blomberg died in a traumatic event on February 24, 1944.

Includes original award box, photographs, letter cut-out and research document reprints. 2nd Lieutenant Samuel B Porter served as Co-Pilot aboard the B-29, #42-24785, "Homing De-Vice" when it was shot down near Hamamatsu, where he was declared MIA. Samuel B. Porter Jr. was pronounced KIA on January 23, 1945. He is memorialized at the Honolulu Cemetery.

His plane crashed while on a bombing run over Cologne on January 10, 1945, where he was pronounced KIA. Staff Sergeant George R Bennett is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing at Cambridge American Cemetery in England.

Wayne Carlyle Thulin was born in Linn County, Iowa in 1916. He enlisted in the USAAF on July 18, 1941 and served as a waist gunner for the 305th Bomb Group, 365th Bomb Squadron. Thulin's B-17, #42-3412, crashed over Belgium on December 20, 1943. Staff Sergeant Wayne C Thulin was pronounced KIA. He is buried at Ardennes American Cemetery in Plot A, Row 23, Grave 13.

Fitzgerland's plane, "Judy" B-17 42-29963 crashed while on a bombing run over Solingen on December 30, 1943 where he was pronounced KIA. He is buried at the Camp Butler National Cemetery in Illinois.
