Spanish Miquelet Belt Pistol by Molas 

Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 1 of 698)      

1" bore diameter, 8" octagonal-to-round barrel. Circa 1780. Spanish hallmark on the top of the breech marked Molas. The lock and hammer feature floral engravings. The entirety of the pistol features nailed brass inlays. The left side of the stock has an iron belt hook. The ivory tipped ramrod has one brass ferrule. 

Condition: Metal has been cleaned to grey. Nice sharp lines.  Stock is very good. Brass has been cleaned to bright in a European manner.

Early Elliptical Bore Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol, marked LDB 

Lot # 2 (Sale Order: 2 of 698)      

1.8" elliptical bore diameter at muzzle, 6.75" octagonal-to-elliptical barrel. The lock is marked LDB. Rounded lock, rounded hammer, frizzen with finial.  Iron-mounted furniture. Acorn finial on the trigger guard, with an iron butt cap. Raised carved clam shell behind the tang.  Raised carved moldings around the lock. The horn tipped ramrod has two ferrules. 

Condition: Overall excellent untouched dark patina.  Stock with some nicks and dings.

Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol by Bond 

Lot # 3 (Sale Order: 3 of 698)      

.86" bore diameter at muzzle, 8" brass octagonal-to-round cannon barrel. Circa 1780. The top flat of the barrel is marked London, with three proof marks on the left side. The lock is marked Bond, and features a sunburst engraving at the hammer, with a safety at the rear. The iron tang features leaf engravings. The brass trigger guard has a floral engraving and a pineapple form finial. With brass escutcheons, two ferrules and a brass tipped ramrod. The walnut stock has a unique fish tail form butt. 

Condition: Very good. Nice mellow brass patina has been cleaned in the European manner. Lock functions properly. Bore is very good. Stock shows very little service.

European Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol 

Lot # 4 (Sale Order: 4 of 698)      

1.375" bore diameter, 6.5" brass octagonal-to-round barrel length.  There is a mark on the lock, however it is not legible.  Left side of stock above side lock marked "615."  Iron locks, buttplate, hammer, frizzen, trigger, trigger guard and ram rod pipes.  Brass barrel with walnut stock. 

Condition: Barrel is untouched with a mustard patina.  Metal parts have an even flow from a grey to brown patina.  Stock is excellent, minimal wear.

Pair of Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistols by Fothergill 

Lot # 5 (Sale Order: 5 of 698)      

.82" bore diameter at muzzle, 9.5" brass octagonal-to-round cannon barreled pistols. Circa. 1820. The left side of the barrels feature two London proof marks. The locks are marked Fothergill, with sunburst engravings around the hammer and safetys at the rear. The brass triggerguards feature floral engravings with pineapple for finials. The brass tipped ramrods have two brass ferrules. 

Condition: Both pistols in very good condition with very good bores. Stocks show dents and dings from normal field service, with one stock appearing to have an old filled in repair at the grip.

Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol by D. Moore 

Lot # 6 (Sale Order: 6 of 698)      

.86 bore diameter at the muzzle, 6.25" brass barrel. Marked on the top of barrel London; British proofs on the left side at breech, one of which is a DM. Lockplate marked D. Moore.  Rounded lock with rounded hammer and a fleur de lis engraved on the top jaw; finial on the frizzen spring. The brass sideplate features figural flags and cannons.  The underside of the brass butt features a grotesque face in relief. Carved walnut stock with a silver thumb rest  and relief carved clam shell motif around the upper tang. Horn tipped ramrod with two brass ferrules. 

Condition: Brass with nice patina.  Metal parts have been cleaned in the European manner, leaving nice sharp edges with clear markings.  The left side of the stock has a few age cracks, with some above the first brass ferrule.  Ramrod is perhaps a replacement. The bore

English Three-Barrel Tap Action Pistol by Twigg 

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 7 of 698)      

.38 caliber, three 3.5" brass barrels. The left side of the brass boxlock is marked Twigg, with the right side marked London. The barrels are marked 3, 4 and 5, with corresponding numbers marked at their breech. The underside of the 4 barrel breech has two English proof marks. The barrel selector is engraved, as is the iron triggerguard and upper tang. With walnut slab-sided grips. 

Condition: Very good with very good bores. Mellow brass patina. Grips show carry use.

Charles Lancaster Four-Shot Pistol 

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 698)      

.476 caliber, four 6.25" barrels, S/N 7775.  Center of barrels marked Charles Lancaster (Patent) 151 New Bond St., London. With three British proofs on the barrels, and one corresponding proof on the frame at the breech. With checkered bird's head profile grips. 

Condition: Retaining most of the original blue finish. Some brown staining. Some light pitting on the right side of the barrels.  Trigger has some dried grease.  Trigger guard has some flaking, but most of the blue finish. Grips are excellent.  Bores are excellent.

Brass Blunderbuss Flintlock Pistol with Folding Bayonet by Grice, London 

Lot # 10 (Sale Order: 10 of 698)      

.750 bore diameter, 9" brass cannon-style barrel. Late 18th century. Folding bayonet on the right side of barrel. Left side marked Grice London. The right side of the barrel has two Birmingham proof marks. Brass boxlock style pistol. Silver thumb piece on the backstrap, with engraved silver butt cap. Walnut stock. 

Condition: Brass has been cleaned long ago.  Stock has nicks and dings, varnished over.  Metal parts with grey to brown look.  The underside of the bayonet latching mechanism on the barrel has a slight crack, but still operates. Overall very good.

Lot # 11 (Sale Order: 11 of 698)      

.950" bore at muzzle, 7.75" tapered round brass barrel.  Late 18th century. Engraved on the top of barrel London with British proofs on the left flat.  Iron breech plug. Early style flat lockplate marked Ketland & Co.  Engraved rass furniture with acorn finial on the trigger guard.  Walnut stock with carved clamshell behind the engraved iron tang. 

Condition: Very nice condition with untouched patina.  Stock is excellent. Overall excellent.

.750 bore diameter, 9" round brass barrel. Late 18th century. Marked on the frame Grice London on the left side. The right side of the barrel has two stamped Birmingham proof marks. Right side has a folding bayonet. With engraved iron triggerguard. Horn tip ramrod with two brass ferrules. Walnut stock. 

Condition: Brass with untouched patina. Clear markings. Metal parts with dark brown patina. Grip with some nicks and dings. Overall very good.

Unique Indian Katar Percussion Pistol 

Lot # 13 (Sale Order: 13 of 698)      

.31 caliber, 5" barrel, 7" blade length.  Extensive gold koftgari work. Late 19th century to early 20th century.  These are most often seen with a hidden dagger.  Green covered scabbard with engraved silver tip. The present example is the only pistol we have encountered. 

Condition: Excellent overall with a some pitting on the guard and blade.  Retaining most of the gold work.  Scabbard is excellent with some light wear.

Rare Heinrich Genhart Ten-Shot Turret Pistol 

Lot # 14 (Sale Order: 14 of 698)      

.36 caliber, 7.5" octagonal barrel, S/N 1003. The top of the turret features deep relief engravings of grotesque figures with grapevine and scroll motifs, and gold inlaid numbers corresponding to the turret chambers. The center of the turret features a brass button, surrounded by the engraving H. Genhart Brevete. The underside features the stamped serial number, with the corresponding number stamped in the center brass turret housing. Plain blued trigger guard, blued barrel.  Blued lever. Gutta percha fluted butt cap.  Finely figured walnut stock with deep relief scroll carvings on the nose of stock. The grips of the stock have a unique zig zag inlay that goeas all the way around the wood, and does  not appear to be a repair. 

Condition: Barrel, trigger guard, lever and butt cap have been expertly refinished with a very nice rust blue.  Retaining all of the blue finish.  Housing retains a lovely brass patina. Top of turret is untouched with nice patina.  All of the gold still remains in the numbers.  Stock is excellent retaining most of the finish and minimal nicks and dings if any. Excellent example of this great rarity.

Rare Square Butt Charles Lancaster Four-Shot Pistol 

Lot # 15 (Sale Order: 15 of 698)      

.455 CF caliber, 6" round barrels, S/N 7140. Marked on top of the barrels Charles Lancaster,s Patent 151 New Pond St London England. Each barrel is marked with three English proof marks, each with a corresponding proof mark at the breech of the frame. The caliber is marked at the left center barrel rib.  The underside of the barrel is stamped 31, with the serial engraved on the underside of the triggerguard. Blued finish with checkered walnut grips with rare square butt. 

Condition: Barrels are sharp with crisp markings, nice patina with some brown staining. Some of the original blue finish appears in the protected areas. Grips are good with some nicks and dings.  Bore is good, as are the mechanics.

Pair of Spanish Miquelet Lock Blunderbuss Cannon-Barrel Pistols by Carbonell 

Lot # 16 (Sale Order: 16 of 698)      

1.5" bore diameter, 9"  round/octagonal barrels. The iron barrels feature patterned chiselings around the flared muzzle and where the round part meets the octagonal part.  The octagonal portions feature silver pattern inlays. Spanish Carbonell hallmarks are on the top of the breech,stamped in gilt. Engraved brass mounts, with fleur de lis finials on the triggerguards. The brass buttcaps feature floral engravings with engraved silver buttons. Bone tipped ram-rods. Case colored locks.  Walnut stocks. 

Condition: Barrels retain most of the original blue finish.  Locks and tangs have most of the bright case colors.  Brass furniture has been cleaned. Stocks have nice dark patina in the protected areas.  Some nicks and dings.  Overall excellent.

Pair of French Elliptical Bore Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistols with Folding Bayonets, Marked Rainkin 

Lot # 17 (Sale Order: 17 of 698)      

1.09" bore width at the muzzle, 5" barrels. Circa 1800. Iron mounted boxlocks marked Jean on the right side, and Rainkin on the left. Both names appear in engraved ovals surrounded by an ivy pattern. The number 40 is engraved on both pistols behind trigger guard. The walnut slab grips feature fine checkering and silver wire inlays. Both pistols have engraved iron triggerguards that act as a release for the bayonets. 

Condition: Very good with very good bores. Both guns have been kept in the bright. Stocks show carry usage.

Belgian Twenty-Shot Pinfire Revolver 

Lot # 18 (Sale Order: 18 of 698)      

.7mm caliber, 5" round barrel. The frame is engraved, as are the raised areas on the cylinder.  With checkered gutta percha grips with a lanyard ring in the butt. 

Condition: All metal has grey to brown patina. Some light pitting into the patina. Lines are sharp.  Grips are good.  A great rarity in multi-shot revolvers.

Centerfire Cartridge LeMat Revolver 

Lot # 20 (Sale Order: 20 of 698)      

12mm caliber, 4.75" octagonal barrel, S/N 3. Center barrel smoothbore, marked on top of the barrel Colonel LeMat Patent. Blue finish with some of the parts finished in a straw color.  Two-piece walnut grips.  No proof marks. 

Condition: All metal is smooth and retaining a lot of the original blue, just lightly fading to a plum.  Walnut grips have 21 notches cut into the right grip. Grips with some nicks and dings, have acquired a dark patina.  Bores are excellent.

1" bore diameter, 7" round brass barrels. Brass boxlocks are engraved JW Richards on the left side in an oval, and London on the right side in an oval. The underside of the barrels feature two Birmingham proofs. The boxlocks feature a safety on the back of the hammers.  Engraved iron trigger guards. Horn tipped ramrods with steel worms.  Walnut grips. 

Condition: Excellent overall, brass has been cleaned long ago.  Grips have some slight nicks and dings, but are very good overall.

English Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol by Bond 

Lot # 23 (Sale Order: 23 of 698)      

.830 bore diameter at muzzle, 4" octagonal-to-round brass barrel with folding bayonet. The top flat of the barrel is marked 59 Lombard St / London. Engraved lock marked W. Bond, with safety and a roller on the frizzen spring. The brass triggerguard has floral engrvavings and a pineapple form finial. With silver escutheon and a silver thumbprint on the grip. The underside of the butt has a figural brass lion. Checkered highly figured walnut stock. 

Condition: This pistol is very sharp and crisp with nice lines.  Brass barrel with a nice patina.  Lock has a dark mottled look.  Stock is excellent.

.30 caliber, 5" barrel. Tortoise shell handles. The knife features a 4.5" folding spear point blade and a 1.25" auger.

Belgian Eight-Shot Percussion Pistol

.30 caliber, 3" barrels. Engraved frame a hidden bar hammer, spur off trigger guard, ebony grip with cap box.  Marked JJH Brevette in the engraving on the back of the tang. 

Condition: All metal has been cleaned. Engraving is sharp and crisp.  Grips are excellent. Some light staining on the barrels. Overall very good.
