The following is written by the artist: "I'm a native Montanan. I majored in art in college, but was sidetracked during the war in Viet Nam, and eventually went to work for the Civil Service. In 1985, I was severely injured on the job and decided to make my hobby my new profession. My primary media in those days was scratchboard, but I used, and still continue to use, acrylics in glazes for the color. Beginning this technique in 1976, many consider me a pioneer in that particular style.
