After a successful three years as captain of the Scharnhorst, he was promoted to Konteradmiral (rear admiral) in 1942 and later, Vizeadmiral (vice admiral) in 1943. He would also receive the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross in 1942 and eventually go on to serve in the Bundesmarine of West Germany as Head of Administration of the Maritime Office. WWII Nazi U-Boat Ace Otto Kretschmer Signed Photos

WWII U-Boat Ace Otto Kretschmer Autographed Photo. Otto Kretschmer was the commander of U-23 and later U-99 where he sank 47 ships for a total of 274,333 tons sunk within...more the span of two years and became Germany’s number one U-boat ace. He received the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords for his actions and was known for his daring attacks against destroyers. Kretschmer earned the nickname “Silent Otto” for maneuvering his U-Boat stealthily and for his reluctance to radio reports during patrols. Kretschmer was captured by the British on March 17, 1941 after coming under attack from destroyers HMS Walker and HMS Vanoc. Kretschmer was known for being an honorable sailor that would help the survivors of the ships that he sunk. Autograph is slightly faded but still legible on right photo, autograph on left photo is hard to read. Photos have no damage. Handwriting on envelop is visible and legible. He was one of two people to receive a Golden NSDAP membership badge before Wehrmacht personnel were allowed to join the Nazi Party in 1944. He was one of Hitler’s major supporters in the Wehrmacht and was known as “Hitler’s Yes Man” as he approved of every military plan Hitler came up with. He was sentenced to execution by hanging after the war and was hung in October 1946. Autograph is bold and distinct, photo has no damage of fading. Good condition. Veteran's Association Funeral Sash. NS. Reichskriegerbund (German Warrior Association) was an umbrella organization that united scattered veteran's groups under one assoc...moreiation. The association was formed around the Kyffhäuser memorial that was built in 1900. The Nazi Party took over the association and later disbanded it by Hitler himself in 1943. NS. Reichskriegerbund is in white lettering and has little to no damage to the letters. The NS. Reichskriegerbund symbol is a later symbol that is an iron cross with a swastika in the center of it inside of a white circle. The circle has some stitching coming out. On the other side, Als letzten Gruss (As a last greeting) is in clear white lettering with minor chips in the lettering missing. The Swastika is in a white circle. The sash has stitches coming out around the edges with a few small holes. Very good condition. From the Michael Clifton collection.

The purpose of the organization was for helping the German cit...moreizens with their working conditions and their management by maintaining a good pay and offering benefits such as medical screenings. The sash was worn by a German Labor Front worker at funerals. This sash has the markings, Die Deutsche Arbeitsfront, in white lettering which are faded but still legible. The DAF symbol is in very good condition and the white circle around it has some loose stitching around the edges. The other Swastika is more faded including both the symbol and the border around it. The sash itself has some small holes near the ends and lettering, the red coloring is faded, and is slightly dirty. Fair condition. From the Michael Clifton collection.

WWII Nazi The New Reichskanzlei Book

The New Reichskanzlei Book. The New Reichskanzlei was the office building for Hitler. Designed in 1938 by Albert Speer and finished in late 1938 on the corner of Voßstraß...moree in Berlin. The interior of the building was not finished until the early 1940's. Between the old and new chancellor's buildings. The fuhrerbunker was constructed between the old and new office buildings and was where Hitler committed suicide. The building was destroyed by the Soviets after WWII ended. The book binding is in poor shape with tears and separation from the pages. The cover has the Nazi emblem with Die Neue Reichskanzlei written on the front in red coloring. The inside pages are in excellent condition and have both color and black and white pictures of the Reichskanzlei's interior and exterior designs. The book talks about the design of the building, construction, and descriptions of pictures. Overall good condition. From the Michael Clifton collection.

Nazi Sports Association Award. The Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen (National Socialist League of the Reich for Physical Exercise, NSRL for short) was...more the organization that managed all sports associations and clubs in Nazi Germany and occupied Austria. Hitler wanted to promote physical fitness in Germany to inspire a sense of unity and to increase the morale of the German people. The NSRL would award prominent athletes with badges and other honors. After WWII began, sports declined as more and more people were drafted to fight and the NSRL organized sports and training for youth. This award was issued to S. C. Hochstadt-Rasp. in 1941. There is a hallmark at the bottom of the eagle, marble base has no cracks or chips, the NSRL eagle and swastika have some finish wear but no damage. Good condition. WWII Nazi Jude Star and Kapo Armbands. A pair of armbands, one having the Star of David with the word Jude and the other having the word Kapo. In Nazi Germany, Jews were ...morepersecuted and they had their rights stripped from them before being deported and sent away to concentration camps. One of the laws for Jews living in Nazi Germany was that they had to be wearing an indicator that they are Jewish, usually in the form of a yellow badge or an armband, both having the Star of David and the word Jude (Jew) embroidered on the star. The Kapo armband was used for prisoners in concentration camps. Kapos were prisoners who served as barracks supervisors or wardens. The position of kapo allowed prisons to establish a victim vs victim system as well as reducing the amount of SS guards needed to run the camp. Armbands are slightly dirty but have no tears or rips. WWII Nazi Wehrpass Draft Document

WWII Nazi Wehrpass. The wehrpass was a document given to every potential conscript when they registered for the draft. The potential draftee would keep his Wehrpass until...more he became a soldier, where he would trade in his Wehrpass for a Soldbuch and the Wehrpass would be kept with the soldier's unit until he was discharged from service. This Wehrpass was issued to a member of the SS Totenkopf, the division of the SS that managed the concentration camps. Inside the wehrpass is the soldier's personal information and the history of his military career. This soldier was at Dachau in 1944 and received the SS Honor Ring that same year. The book has stains on the pages and a worn binding. Some of the pages are slightly wrinkled. All lettering and writing is clear and legible. Cover has SS runes as well as a SS Totenkopfstandarte stamp. Good condition and unique piece of history. From the Michael Clifton collection.

In Hitler's Mein Kampf, Hitler described in details on how the Swastika looks and ...morehow it should be used on flags or banners. The banner would be hung up on the outside of government buildings. The banner has a 2"x1" size hole on one end. Hole is not from mothing, probably battle damage. Banner has some discoloration. Good condition overall. From the Michael Clifton collection. 11'9"x 2'5"

Nazi SS Pins and Bag

Nazi SS Pins and Bag. The SS was the security for Hitler and other higher ranking officials. Founded in April, the SS was the primary organization to enforce German polic...morees during Hitler's reign. The party was dissolved in 1945 with Ernst Kaltenbrunner being the last high ranking officer killed by hanging in 1946 during the Nuremberg Trials. Two enamel and one metal pin, the larger SS lightning bolt stick pin was used to show membership status in the SS, color has faded away, fair condition. The smaller SS stick pin was the standard issue pin given to members of the SS, color is clearly visible with a few small dirt spots, good condition. The SS helper stick pin was given to those who gave large financial donations to the organization and were discontinued in 1933, lettering is clearly visible and is white on black background, slightly tarnished around the sides, good condition. The bag has the words "Dieser Sack und es sind Ist Inhalt Eigentum dse Riechsfuhrer-SS und des Deutsch ReichsBank" which translates to "This bag and its contents are property of the Reichsfuhrer SS and of the German Reichsbank". The bag belonged to Heinrich Himmler for personal objects. Bag is made from cloth with leather draw string straps. The bag is heavily stained and the leather is stiff and brittle. One of the leather straps has snapped on one side. Fair condition. From the Michael Clifton collection.
