The markings on the body are partially missing. Visible markings stenciled in white are “ Nb 39; 17/40”. The screw-on end cap on the handle is partially rusted away and is frozen in place. The markings “?R 804-40” are stamped into the wooden handle. Eight emission holes are found in the base of the body.

Color: Dark green with y...moreellow (white?) markings Manufacturer: Unknown Country of Origin: Germany The thin metal grenade body has a belt loop attached. The winter end cap unscrews to show the porcelain donut and string that looks to be original. Stenciled markings on the grenade body are “VOR GEBRAUCH SPRENG KAPSEL EINSETZEN”, which translates to “Before use, Insert the Detonator”. There appears to be illegible markings on the forward end of the body. Markings burned into the wooden handle are “P.13.8.17 and 5.5 Sek. S.M.W.”. There is a rough flat part on the handle, but it appears to have been there since manufacture. Head does not unscrew.

This thin metal fragmentation sleeve is split lengthwise and is a friction fit to the grenade body. There are no visible markings on the grenade body. Stamped into the wooden handle is what appears to be”wc 1943”. The threaded metal end cap on the handle is removable, but the interior fuze components are missing. Head to stick threading does have some wobble. Sleeve has been on for a very long time.

Stenciled markings on the grenade body are “VOR GEBRAUCH SPRENG KAPSEL EINSETZEN”, which translates to “Before use, Insert the Detonator”. Stamped into the forward end of the body is “1939”. Stamped into the wooden handle is “a Waffen proof; ?R 1939 and Üb”. There is also a Waffen proof stamped into the metal cap of the handle.

Other black markings on the handle are only partially clear “??? 25.9.17”. The metal end caps unscrews to reveal the porcelain ring and cord for the fuze. Cutaway: Yes Long Description: There are two F-1 fragmentation grenade bodies. One has a shipping plug and the other an inert UZRGM fuze. There are two RGD-5 hand grenade bodies. One has a shipping plug the other an inert UZRGM fuze. Also, there is one inert UZRGM fuze. There are various markings on these items. The grenades need to line up just right for the box to close.
