Michael Jackson Signed Custom Black Wool Fedora

Lot # 10A (Sale Order: 15 of 309)

Michael Jackson Personally Owned and Worn Signed Custom Black Wool Fedora W/Letter From MJJ Productions and Publicity Photo - This black wool fedora was custom made for a...morend personally owned by Michael Jackson. This instantly recognizable piece of iconic memorabilia is size medium, and is embossed with Michael Jackson's name in gold lettering on the inner brim. The fedora is signed Michael Jackson and dated 1998 on the brim, along with a symbol that Michael often signed with. There are a few theories about why Jackson autographed things the way he did, with the date 1998 and the "ooo" upward arrow. It is said that he began signing with "1998" in 1988, and one theory is that he had simply made a mistake, and another is that he was prophesizing his death. A more likely theory is that he believed that his career would come full circle within ten years, and that he would have accomplished all he desired by that time. The upward arrow is though to have symbolized moving forward, while the "ooo" is said to represent the complete Godhead-Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is believed that Michael Jackson was a very spiritual person, and that there was a meaning behind everything he did or said. This fedora will be accompanied by a letter from MJJ Productions in the original envelope dated 1989, which states in part, "We have included 'two official custom fedoras' created for Mr. Jackson. We have also included one signed fedora used and worn by Mr. Jackson during rehearsals for 'Billie Jean' while in Pensacola, Florida". The lot also includes a black and white publicity photo. Please see reference photo showing Michael Jackson performing on stage wearing a similar fedora. Shipping Note: This item is located in Florida. Shipping will be at the expense of the buyer.
