Description: This powder has a finial comprised of the head of a Sphinx and the jar is a cone shaped hexagon with a three footed base. This powder jar is shown on page 45 of Whitmyer's - Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years. Beautifully executed with fine definition to the Sphinx's features and an incredible geometric shape. The jar with lid measures 5 x 5 1/4 inches. Both the jar and its lid are in excellent condition; however the lid has more of a yellow tint than the jar, indicative of a stronger Uranium content.

Description: This lovely footed turquoise blue satin glass powder jar was produced by Taussaunt Glass and named 'Sunburst' by Margaret Whitmyer and shown on pg 57 in - Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years. It measures about 3 7/8" x 3 7/8" x 2" deep. There are gold painted tips on each corner of the lid, on each foot and a gold painted star burst design on the top. The bottom is marked Taussaunt Glass. The original Dermay of 5th Ave. sticker, with an art deco lady wearing a flowing scarf, is still on the jar and says 'Dermay Parfumers Bath Powder - Paris New York'. Slight wear to the gold paint otherwise both the jar and lid are excellent condition

Description: This Victorian era powder jar features a high open crown finial and round footed base and adorned with a heavy gold bow pattern and copious gold trimming. There is some wear to the gold trim and roughness to the rim of the jar and some fleabites on the rim of the lid, otherwise condition is very good. Measuring 8 1/2 inches tall x 2 3/4inches in diameter x 3 1/4 inches across the foot. The crown shaped finial is almost 3 inches tall. I have also seen these described as Victorian shaving mugs, with the shaving brush placed inside the open finial. However Ettinger pictures a similar Bohemian Glass set in 'Antique Dresser Sets: 1890s -1950s' and calls it a powder jar
