Tommy Taylor match-worn England No.9 international jersey from the game v Wales at Ninian Park 19th October 1957, short-sleeved; sold with a signed certificate of authenticity from the Swansea Town and Welsh international Des Palmer who gained the shirt as as swap after the match, being his third and final appearance for Wales (2) The Manchester United Busby Babe Tommy Taylor won a total of 19 England international caps between 1953 and 1957. In the Wales match England won 4-0. Tragically, Taylor died in the Munich Air Disaster 6th February 1958 aged 26.

Lot # 839 (Sale Order: 103 of 712)      

The blue England v Scotland international cap awarded to the Manchester United Busby Babe Tommy Taylor in 1955-56, inscribed S v E, 1955-56 This match was played at Hampden Park 14th April 1956. The match ended 1-1. The Manchester United Busby Babe won a total of 19 England international caps between 1953 and 1957 and had an excellent scoring record of 16 goals, including two hat-tricks. Seen as England's perfect successor for the ageing Nat Lofthouse, Taylor tragically lost his life in the Munich Air Disaster. Provenance: Bought at Christie's 23rd September 2003

A silver Football League representative medal awarded to the West Ham United player Andy Malcolm in 1958, inscribed THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE, REPRESENTATIVE MATCH, THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE VERSUS THE SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE, AT GLASGOW, 8th OCTOBER 1958, in original fitted case This match was played at Ibrox and ended as a 1-1 draw. Sammy Baird scored for the Scots, Brian Clough for the visitors. Andy Malcolm made a total of 283 League appearances for The Hammers between 1953 and 1962. He later had spells at Chelsea and QPR.
