Terry Yorath won a total of 59 Wales international caps and would have been a Coventry City player at the time of selection for these matches.

Although issued with this League Cup Final top, Hansbury missed out on the Final with Keelan selected ahead of him.

Osvaldo Ardiles: a blue & white striped Argentina No.8 jersey worn in the match v Scotland at the Estadio de Boca Juniors, Buenos Aires, 18th June 1977, by Adidas, long-sleeved; sold with a signed letter of authenticity from the Scottish international Don Masson, framed; and an Ossie Ardiles signed b&w photo, framed (3) This jersey was gained as a swap by QPR & Scotland's Don Masson. This was the second of the three game South American Tour of 1977. The game ended as a 1-1 draw. Don Masson had given the Scots the lead through a 77th minute penalty, only for Passarella to equalise from the spot 3 minutes later. Ossie Ardiles won a total of 63 international caps for Argentina between 1973 and 1982, scoring 8 goals, and was part of the World Cup winning team of 1978. Following the tournament he and fellow World Cup winner Ricky Villa were signed by Tottenham Hotspur. Ardiles achieved cult hero status in England and made 221 League appearances in a ten year spell interrupted by a forced loan spell to Parus Saint Germain in the wake of the Falklands War in 1982.

The 1972 NASL Soccer Bowl Championship Ring awarded to the New York Cosmos equipment manager Charles Martinelli, the gold ring inscribed NASL CHAMPIONS RING, 1972, NEW YORK COSMOS, and also bearing the club logo New York Cosmos claimed their first Soccer Bowl when beating the St Louis Stars 2-1 at the Hofstra Stadium, Hempstead, New York. The Cosmos goals were scored by Randy Horton & the Czech 1962 World Cup runner-up Josef Jelinek who sealed the victory with a penalty kick. The match was played in soaking rain. He started his career at Scunthorpe United and followed manager Freddie Goodwin when he was appointed head coach at New York Generals in the NPSL and played there until the club folded in 1971. At that point the defender joined the New York Cosmos and played five seasons for the team winning a Championship Ring in 1972. Provenance: The Charles Martinelli Collection. The Brazilian and American flags displayed on the occasion of Pele's first match for the New York Cosmos v Dallas Tornados at Downing Stadium, Randalls' Island, 15th June 1975, sold with a photocopy of a magazine picture showing Pele holding the US flag and the Tornados captain Kyle Rote Jr. holding the Brazilian flag in the centre circle before kick-off Pele scored on his debut with a top-corner header as Cosmos drew the match 2-2. As part of his presentation the the American public these flags were displayed on the pitch before the game. Provenance: The Charles Martinelli Collection. The shorts worn by Pele in his first match for the New York Cosmos v Dallas Tornados at Downing Stadium, Randall's Island, 15th June 1975, a pair of white shorts with an embroidered green No.10 Pele scored on his Cosmos debut with a headed directed into the top right-hand corner of the net. He also had an assist for Israeli striker's Mordechai Spiegler goal in the 2-2 draw. 10 million people tuned into watch CBS's live coverage of Pele's debut match - a record audience for soccer in America. Pele had signed a $2.8 million three-year contract making him the highest paid athlete in the world. The 34-year-old had not played a competitive match for eight months when moving to the NASL. During his time in America he helped double the average attendance for the League, with the Cosmos crowd tripling in size. In his three year spell he scored 37 goals, won the NASL MVP in 1976 and crowned his career with a Soccer Bowl title in 1977. Provenance: The Charles Martinelli Collection. Pele match-worn green New York Cosmos No.10 jersey from the preseason game v Seattle Sounders in the first sporting event held in the Kingdome, Seattle, 9th April 1976, in Aertex, short-sleeved with gold collar & cuffs, numbered 10 to right sleeve and the reverse which is also lettered PELE A crowd of 58,128 attended this match, reportedly setting a record crowd for a US soccer match. Cosmos won 3-1 and Pele scored two of the goals. The Kingdome, a massive concrete structure, had officially opened 13 days earlier. Provenance: The Charles Martinelli Collection.
