Made by Winchester. 3) Highly ornate trench art example of a large caliber artillery shell with finely executed dragon design. Round base added to bottom. Collection of Approximately 52 Assorted Love Letters from a John A. Cox to a Jessie Crozier together
These holographic letters were written in 1904 from a John Cox to a Miss Jessie Crozier. They appear to be innocent love letters written while he was stationed in Ft. Gaines, Ga. She appears to be the daughter of a Doctor who owned a local drug store. Sold together with two faded photographs purported to be Miss Crozier. Letters reveal his affection for the woman whom he calls "little girl". Condition: All are showing age and minor discoloration. Photographs are faded. Estimate: $40/60

The white cotton flag with red hinomaru and block printed characters translated to read: [kitano ten mangu], Shinto Shrine at Kitano in Kyoto, Japan. Letters in corner read: [Dai San Haw] Third Corps. Flag was reportedly found by a U.S. Marine on the island of Iwo Jima, near Kitano Point Cave where General Tadamichi Kurigayashi was killed.
