Condition: Excellent to mint. Retaining 95-98% finish with minor losses on frame and gripstrap. Grips excellent. Action excellent.

Firearm.Serial no. 262, .22 caliber, 3 3/4-inch blued round barrel. Unique hammer that serves as a breechblock. Silver-plated frame. Spur trigger. Backstrap marked: J.C. Terry/Patent/Pending. Ivory grips.
Condition: Fine to excellent. Retaining approaximately 40-50% finish with light flaking on barrel and wear to gripstrap and butt. Frame with age patina to silver finish. Grips excellent. Action excellent. A superb example of this model.
Notes: This example manufactured in 1870s.

Condition: Good. Barrel with dark brown age patina. Frame with mellow age patina. Grips with light wear. Mechanically sound.

Firearm.Unserialized. .32 caliber, 2 3/4-inch blued barrels. Brass frame. Button trigger, Side hammer. Address present on circular side plate. Bottom of barrel stamped K. Floorplate stamped P. Varnished walnut grips.
Condition: Very good. Barrels retaining approximately 85-90% finish with scattered wear overall. Hammer with faded case-hardening present. Frame with brass patina. Grips excellent with only slight wear present.
Notes: Manufactured in 1860s.

Condition: Fine to excellent. Barrel with grey-brown age patina with strong traces of blue finish in protected areas. Frame and gripstrap retaining approximately 75-80% silver finish with scattered wear to relief edges.

Starr Four-barrel Sixth Type Pepperbox Derringer

Lot # 339 (Sale Order: 339 of 514)      

Firearm.Serial no. 58, .32 caliber, 2 3/4-inch blued tip-up 4-barrel cluster [serial no. 58 on right side near breech]. Silver-plated brass frame. Side hammer. Button trigger, Floorplate of frame stamped 8 over a V. Inside of grips with similar stampings.
Condition: Excellent for this model. Barrel retaining traces of blue finish, primarily in protected areas. Frame and gripstrap retaining 70-75% finish with scattered light wear and patina present. Grips excellent. Action needs work as firing pin does not rotate.
Notes: Manufactured in the 1870s. The rare 6th type Starr derringer is slightly smaller and lighter that the 5th type; the frame is more slender and grips are slim; note also the difference in the configuration of the breechblock.

Inscription engraved on top flute of barrel cluster: E.M. REILLY & Co. OXFORD ST. LONDON. Burl walnut case, lined in blue felt with elegant E.M. Reilly & Co. 502, New Oxford Street, London, paper trade label in lid; brass shield inlay on lid; accessories of brass handled steel cleaning rod, obsolete cartridges and key.
Condition: Fine. 95% blue and silver; minor wear; Tipping & Lawden marking on left side of frame carefully stamped out, likely at time of retail sale. Case with light wear; label likely pasted inside lid at time of sale; missing one of compartment lids.
