Charleston - Tombstone Ranch Sold

A pre-printed, one page, legal size deed dated 1883 from Cochise County, Arizona Territory showing the sale of a "stock and agricultural ranch - located about one and a half miles east of the Bradshaw Mine, two miles west of the Burleigh Mine and about one and three fourths miles easterly from the San Pedro River and about five miles easterly from Charleston having therein a wooden cabin built by the grantors and having therein four springs - one of which is known as the Burleigh Spring about three fourths of a mile easterly from said cabin..." The selling price is $500 and is signed on the bottom by three men.

A pre-printed, one page, 7x8" "Subpoena - Criminal" dated 1895 from El Paso, Texas ordering "Captain Hughes" and "H.G. Ross" to appear in court in a criminal case against "Andres Molina." Is signed at the bottom by two court clerks. Includes information on John Hughes' career as well.

San Juan Consolidating Mining Co.

Lot # 8046 (Sale Order: 53 of 506)      

Colorado Territory - 1875. Has a bold, ornate title across the top with lots of fancy artwork and a 'heavenly' vignette of a goddess dropping coins from the sky. Has black on white printing with the stock receipt attached on the left edge. Issued from the mining camp of "Del Norte" - is issued to and signed by Thomas Bowen five times - he filled out the certificate, signed the stock, plus two signatures on the receipt and his endorsement on the back. Has very tiny paper loss at the top and bottom folds, barely noticeable. Comes with information on Del Norte and Thomas Bowen.

WWII B-6 Bomber Photograph

Excellent 11x14" original photo of flyboys and mechanics getting ready to hop aboard B-6 Bomber. Interesting look at uniforms - leather jackets with wool collars, etc. Good view of plane with design of stork wearing tophat carrying a baby in diaper. Also markings on the side of plane for 37 targets hit.

1867 Colorado Territory Mining Document

A pre-printed, 5x8" "Pre-emption of claim" with a nice title at top guarding a safe-several deer in the forest, also a red tax stamp on the front with a CDS cancellation. The document is issued for several claims "on the Calhoun Lode for mining purposes situated in the Russell Mining District". The document is signed by "J. Frederick Pierson." The lot also includes information.

Republic of Texas Slavery Document

A handwritten 6x7" agreement dated October 24, 1840 agreeing to hire "two negro women named Mather and Judey for 12 months at the rate of $12 each per month and to clothe the said negroes - it is undersood if either of the Negroes die during the year or by any other means become incapable of service, I am to pay only for the time they are capable of service..." The document is signed "A. Butler" with no location. There is minor wear with an uneven bottom edge.

Montana - U.S. Mineral Patent

A five page 1890 Mineral Certificate from Montana and issued to "James B. Haggin for the six acre "Might Lode" in the "Summit Valley Mining District" in Silver Bow County. The certificate is tied together at the top with blue ribbon and several metal rivets holding the pages together. Gives a legal description of the property, mentioning several claims. Has a full-page, hand drawn map of a group of claims with the Might Lode colored in yellow and red. he last page has a proxy signature of President Benjamin Harrison with a red embossed seal over the blue ribbon. 10x15".

"Secret Message" Telegram C 1879

A Western Union telegram from San Francisco to a Carson City, Nevada bank - message reads "Haven August Latch Avenged Attent Latency Atmosphere Haunted Same Avenged Fish" and signed "Homer King & Co." (a banking house). Beneath the message has been deciphered in pencil showing the buying and selling prices of stock (mining?) - "bought 80 Lady B, $45.00, 100 Lady W, $1.10, Sold 20 Sierra Nev. $45.00". Black on white printing.

Wyoming Territory Cattle Sale

Lot # 8067 (Sale Order: 74 of 506)      

Two page, legal size, handwritten bill of sale, dated 1878 from Fort Bridger, Wyoming Territory. The documents states that W.A. Carter is purchasing 12 heads of cattle to be delivered "at his herd house on Henry's Fork". The document describes the ages of the cattle and their conditions and is signed on the bottom by J.B. Anson as seller. On the back is a handwritten approval of the sale with about 8 lines re: the sale and delivery of the cattle. This portion is handwritten and signed by W.A. Carter as the buyer.
