The Carrizozo Cattle Ranch Co., White Oaks N.M. September, 1887. Sworn statement of a stolen horse branded R, stolen at Winslow A.T. February, 1887 - signed by C.M. Coggins - Probate Judge - Lincoln Co., New Mexico. This ranch was later owned by Clark Gable in the 1940s.

George Crook ALS C 1886

Lot # 8321 (Sale Order: 330 of 506)      

This note, written by Crook's own hand, gives the 6th Cavalry souvenirs to his aid O'Mally as he transfers from Arizona to the Department of the Platte. General Crook was unhappy with actions taken by some of his units, dated January, 1786. General George Crook was the commander of the U.S. Army in the Arizona Territory campaign from 1871 until 1888. Best known for encounters with Apaches and Geronimo. The 6th Cavalry souvenirs are displayed here. Signed by George Crook. Framed.

San Carlos Indian I.D. Tag

Indian identification tag from the San Carlos, Arizona White Mountain Reservation, 1888. The tag was worn by Tonto Apache males as identification. The tag of this lot is hard to find. The lot is accompanied by a copy of a document from the U.S. Indian Service which outlines the stamping of a letter and a number on the tag and the recording of same into a log.
