Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver, #113435, .44 cal., 8" round barrel, blue finish, smooth walnut one-piece grip, German silver blade front and V-notch hammer rear sight, cut for stock, brass trigger guard and front strap, iron back strap, naval battle cylinder scene, and cap groove on right side. Matching visible serial numbers, except the wedge, which is an unmarked period replacement. Factory markings are legible with "COLTS PATENT" on the left side of the frame, "G" and "H" inspection marks on the cylinder, with a "D" on the grip apron. Mfg'd 1863. The revolver is in good overall condition with the metal surfaces having gone to a mottled gray patina with areas of moderate to heavy surface erosion and pinprick pitting. Cylinder displays approx. 30%-40% lightly rolled cylinder scene with scattered light to moderate pitting. There is a replaced nipple with the safety tabs all hammered flat. Loading lever shows traces of silvered color case hardened finish. Front strap and trigger guard display a pleasing taffy patina to the brass. Butt of the grip frame is dark with light pitting and corrosion, making the serial number difficult to read. Grips are very good with wear and indentations. There is shrinkage around the proud edges and faint cartouche outlines on both sides, better on the left. Action functions well, holding at full and half cock with good timing. Bore is dark with moderate erosion and visible rifling. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
