WWII manufacture, dated "1942" at barrel breech along with proof and other markings. Serial "21409" mkd. atop barrel, receiver and bolt. "VKT" within a diamond (State Rifle Factory) mark at breech. 5-round box mag. Oiled hardwood fullstock with middle step has finger-joint at lower band, matching upper handguard. Import marked under muzzle. Condition is very good as arsenal refurbished, with most black-blue metal finish, fine edges and markings. Action is smooth, bright bore shows strong rifling. (C&R/PPT)

Oiled walnut finger-groove semi-pistol grip stock has sling loop on lower band and at left-side wrist, filled 1.5" wood patch at belly, steel buttplate, is marked "4676" over "6933" at right, "265 JU (?)" at left. Model 1888 bolt-action military-style rifle, made at Erfurt Arsenal and later converted from black powder to 8 x 57 Mauser caliber. The rifle is in overall good condition displaying approximately 70% muted black blued finish with the balance gone to a brown patina to the receiver, fixed box magazine, barrel assembly, adjustable rear flip-up sight and fixed blade front sight, barrel bands, bayonet lug (no bayonet included), cleaning rod, sling swivels (woven green sling included), bolt, bolt release lever, safety, misc. small parts and securing screws. The hardwood stock is in overall fair condition with scattered old mars, dings, scratches and a 5" sliver of wood loss at the front of the left side forend. Manufactured circa 1910, this early import-marked Swedish Mauser military rifle is in overall fine condition displaying approximately 85% black blued finish to the receiver, barrel assembly, adjustable flip-up rear sight, fixed blade front sight, barrel bands and sling swivels (no sling included), bayonet lug (no bayonet included), trigger, trigger guard, floor plate, bolt release lever, misc. small parts, securing screws; bolt, bolt safety, butt plate and cleaning rod are finished bright. The hardwood stock is in overall very good-to-fine condition showing pleasing grain. There is also a brass grading disc inset into the right side of the butt stock for this rifle and likely a rack number tag affixed to the underside of the butt stock. The wood stocks are overall good with scattered wear to the butt stock and forend showing nice grain and a hand-carved deer head on the right side of the butt stock with factory black plastic butt plate and white spacer that is also the case for the pistol grip cap and spacer.
