SN. 172576. Cal. 12ga. Made on a #2 frame with 32” Acme Steel brls, that have matted concave top rib with brass mid and brass & bone front bead, and usual rib legend. B...morerl flats with unstruck brl weight of 4lbs. 10oz. Splinter forend is full coverage checkered with scroll engraved steel tip, Deeley latch release, and iron. Casehardened boxlock frame is beautifully engraved with game scenes in oval at front of sides, full coverage scroll and “PARKER BROS”. Fences are beaded and scroll engraved. Top tang is scroll engraved and “SAFE” in relief ahead of safety slide. Bottom of frame with leaping elk on trigger guard and scroll coverage. Blued long tang trigger guard is scroll engraved on bow and at tang with SN at center. Gun has Parker Bros. SST, auto ejectors, non-auto safety. Straight grip buttstock with checkered side panels, carved fleur-de-lis behind receiver, is checkered in wave border pattern through the wrist, has gold oval on toeline, and terminates with a modern red Noshoc brand pad. Splinter forearm is near full coverage checkered with scroll engraved steel tip Deeley, latch release, and iron. Casehardened boxlock receiver is nicely engraved. Left side with 2 Pointers in oval, right side with 2 Setters, remainder of sides with fine scroll, and “PARKER BROS” in rectangle banner. Brl fences are scroll engraved and beaded. Top lever is sculpted and scroll engraved. Front of frame with scroll and trigger plate with beautiful game scene showing Setter and Pointer flushing 2 birds surrounded by scroll. The blued trigger guard with floral scroll on bow, SN at tang. Gun made with double triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. The beautifully figured French Walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock has checkered side panels and fleur-de-lis carving behind receiver, is checkered in flowing wave mullered border patter through the wrist and terminates with its original engraved blued skeleton steel buttplate. Fu...morell beavertail forearm which is checkered in near full coverage, mullered border pattern, and has scroll engraved Deeley latch release and iron. Gun made on a 1-1/2 frame. Brl Set 2 made with 28" Vulcan Steel brls, 2-3/4" chambers, that has full length matted top rib with white front and mid bead. Semi beavertail forearm with scroll engraved Deeley latch release. Forearm is near full coverage checkered in mullered border pattern. Both brls sets with 1-3/4” scroll wedges at breech ends. Receiver is fabulously engraved and gold inlaid in full coverage scroll with gold inlaid duck on left, pheasant on right, flying quail on trigger plate and "PARKRR BROS." in gold on bottom of frame. The quality of the inlay is absolutely world class. The fences on this gun have been sculpted in three-layer point pattern. Blued top lever with burst of scroll and "SAFE" in gold in front of safety. SN inlaid in gold on trigger guard tang, and trigger guard bow with scroll bursts. Parker Brothers SST, auto ejectors, non-auto safety. Round knob pistol grip buttstock with Monte Carlo at butt is checkered in high grade Parker type pattern with checkered side panels and flowing leaves behind grip and terminates with a blued and scroll engraved skeleton buttplate. Housed in a brown leather two brl set case with accessories with maroon felt interior. Light green canvas cover. Straight hand stock of figured American Walnut has multipoint checkering and a vacant silver oval on toeline, terminating in a recent Silver's pad. Matching forend has engraved steel tip and Deeley latch release. WEIGHT: 6lbs. 15oz. Bore Diameter: .660(Both). Bore Restriction: .030(Both). DAC: 1-1/2". DAH: 2-3/8". LOP: 14". Trigger plate with 4 pheasants in scroll portrait. Long tang trigger guard with burst of scroll at bow and SN at center of tang. Brl bolsters, top of frame, and top lever are nicely scroll engraved. Top tang with scroll engraving where a safety slide is normally found. Gun made with Parker SST, auto ejectors, special ordered without safety. Mounted with a nicely figured walnut with carved teardrops behind receiver is checkered in point pattern through the wrist, has oval on toeline and thin black Pachmayr brand white lined waffle pad. Forearm with the earliest signs of a beginning grain separation on right side at iron otherwise appears sound with most of its Remington era updated factory finish. Frame with 20-30% original case color remaining mostly in protected areas and on trigger plate. Trigger guard with traces of original blue. Buttstock is very good and retains most of an older restored finish with subsequent minor handling marks. Toe repair noted above. Right ejector is live otherwise mechanics are very good and trigger works well. Top lever rests at center. Bores with scattered orange peel. The stout casehardened boxlock receiver engraved in standard DHE pattern with Setter on right, Pointer on right in oval, “PARKER BROS” in banner on sides, all surrounded by well executed scroll. Large breech balls are also scroll engraved. Bottom of frame with bursts of scroll and trigger plate with 4 flying ducks surrounded by scroll. The blued trigger guard with burst of scroll on bow, SN at tang. Gun made with nickel plated double triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. The nicely figured capped pistol grip walnut buttstock with carved teardrop behind receiver is checkered in 3 point pattern through the wrist and terminates with its original skeleton steel buttplate. Accompanied by a PGCA letter identifying this gun as found today. WEIGHT: 8lbs. 1oz. Min. Wall Thickness: .040(Rt) .042(L). Bore Diameter: .731(Rt) .732(L). Bore Restriction: .041(Both). DAC: 1-9/16". DAH: 3". LOP: 13-3/4". CONDITION: Very good as found. Brls with more than 95% of their black & white bold contrast Damascus pattern remaining. Forend is sound with checkering beginning to thin and retains about half of its original finish. Frame retains about half of its pretty original rainbow case color with toning at carry point and crisp engraving throughout. Buttstock is very good with crisp drop points. Checkering beginning to fill on right side and finish thinning on comb and towards butt. Overall the buttstock retains about 70% of its original finish with scattered impressions and handling marks. Buttplate has drifted gray. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are excellent. Original condition No. 3 frame 12ga Parkers are seldom offered for sale and are desirable today. C&R. There is a small ring of engraving at the breech end of the brls. Brl flats show unstruck brl weight 3lbs. 5oz. Splinter forearm checkered in point and diamond pattern with near full engraved steel tip, Deeley latch release, and iron. The casehardened boxlock receiver is very nicely engraved with detailed game scenes at front of sides, “PARKER BROS” in banner all surrounded by well executed scroll. Beaded brl fences which are engraved with a single bird and scroll on each side. Top of frame, top lever, and top tang with scroll and border engraving. Bottom of frame with scroll coverage and 3 running elk engraved in detail at center of trigger plate. Trigger guard with burst of scroll in panel on bow, SN at tang. Gun made with double triggers, extractors, auto safety. The gold capped pistol grip walnut buttstock with checkered side panels, carved fleur-de-lis, and terminates with its original skeleton buttplate. Accompanied by a PGCA research letter showing the gun shipped to L.C. Clark of Southington, CT for J.F. Pratt. Original shipped with 26” Titanic Steel brls, built on a 1-1/2 frame and chokes specified "RH CYLINDER, LH CLOSE”. The letter also shows the gun having been returned several times for repair and maintenance. WEIGHT: 6lbs. 5oz. Min. Wall Thickness: .022(Both). Bore Diameter: .744(Rt) .739(L). Bore Restriction: .000(Rt) .010(L). DAC: 1-5/8". DAH: 2-5/8". LOP: 14". CONDITION: About good as used by Mr. Pratt and subsequent owners for many seasons. Bores are generally good with beginning orange peel ahead of chambers. Stocks with about 70% of their original checkering remaining and shows countless hunting bumps and marks throughout. Toe is slightly pushed in. Buttplate with some engraving visible. Engraving is mostly very good and the gun is absolutely as found and still has good original screw slots. Gun remains tight and on face. Mechanics are good. This gun is very much a worthy candidate for mild cleaning and restoration.
