1972 Ferrari Dino 246GT/GTS

Lot # 242 (Sale Order: 41 of 87)

1972 Ferrari Dino 246GT • Stunning silver over red color combination • Owner states actual mileage of 31,500 • Fresh restoration • Optional Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (Daytona) seats • Optional Factory flares • Optional Power Windows & Air Conditioning The chic Ferrari “Dino” was Enzo’s answer to combat the mighty little and often annoying German built Porsche 911. The Dino, named after Enzo’s son, was intended to be an entry level Ferrari, and featured a special “Dino“ badge, and not the typical Cavallino “Prancing Horse”. In the first year of production they were labeled the 206 Dino’s and by 1969, with the new larger more potent 2.4L V6, the model designation changed to the 246 Dino, and production continued through 1973. They were offered in two body styles, a sleek GT sport coupe and as a open spider with a removable roof center section labeled a GTS. There were not a lot of factory options available outside of interior and exterior color choices, radio, power windows, air conditioning and wheels. However in later cars, the rare Ferrari 365GT/B (Daytona) seats, small wheel well lip flares and wider wheels , known as “Chairs and Flairs” became a very sought after option. This Dino started out life as a GT and was later upgraded to a factory correct GTS spider, including the body flares and Daytona seats. This low mileage Dino featured here looks stunning in brilliant silver metallic paint with a complimentary dark red and black leather interior and wider Campagnolo wheels. This combination spells class, and the level of restoration is sure to please any potential Ferrari collector.

1956 Packard Caribbean Convertible

Lot # 244 (Sale Order: 43 of 87)

1956 Packard Caribbean Convertible • Dover white, Danube blue and black with matching interior • 1 of 276 built • All brightwork & chrome recently done by Graves Plating • Full mechanical restoration • Dual season interior • Power steering • Power Brakes • Power Windows • Dual carburation “Ask The Man Who Owns One” was the marketing slogan for the Packard car company. From 1899 through 1956 The Caribbean by Packard was one of the signature cars of the century with William D. Rockefeller as one of the first notable owners.1956 was the final and last year for the big beautiful and luxurious Packard Caribbean Convertible. There were minor changes between 1955 and 56, and only 276 Caribbean convertibles were built for that year. They were powered by Packard’s own overhead valve V8 engine that displaced 375ci and produced 310hp. Thanks in part, to twin 4bbl Rochester carburetors. Tri-tone paint schemes and corresponding matching leather interiors were optional and very popular. They were loaded with options rivaling many of the other luxury Marques of the day like Lincoln, Imperial and Cadillac. These Packard Caribbean’s were also the lowest production of any full-size American made luxury convertible in the 1950’s. The Caribbean’s had great exterior styling, comfortable seating, (reversible upholstery), full power accessories, and a very space age, intricate instrument and dash layout with a push button gear indicator pod protruding from the steering column. This Packard started out as a decent running and driving example and then was reconditioned both cosmetically and mechanically for the occasional Sunday drive, but also for show. It features the desirable tri-tone paint scheme in Dover white, Danube blue and black with corresponding matching interior. This lovely Caribbean has in fact been on display at numerous car shows and events and would certainly be welcome in any museum or private collection.

1934 Packard Super 8 Resto-Mod

Lot # 246 (Sale Order: 45 of 87)

1934 Packard Super 8 Restomod • 502ci Chevy V8 • 700 R4 6M Transmission • 4 Wheels Disc Power Brakes • Power Windows • Power Seats • Power Hood • Air Conditioning In 1933 most car manufacturers redesigned their cars to a fuller fender style of car. This style remained in production through the 1934 model year also. When you first see a long black 1930’s 4dr sedan, you automatically think gangster, “Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel and Luck Luciano”, well this car personifies the term. With its gleaming black finish, long front hood, massive grill, side mount tires and long sinister body there is no doubt. The only thing missing are the violin cases. At first glance this stunning Packard Super Eight seems carefully and meticulously restored, however upon close inspection the details soon reveal that this limousine is a high level ‘Resto-Mod. This car is no longer powered by the conventional straight 8, but a torquey 502 cubic inch big block Chevrolet coupled to a 4 speed automatic overdrive. A hidden switch operates the electric front engine hood. To improve ride and handling, the original frame was slightly modified. Under the heavy nose of the car, aftermarket front lower “A” arms, heavy coil-over springs, rack-in-pinion steering, sway bar and disc brakes was added. In the rear, a heavy duty Ford 9” rear axle, sway bar, air shocks and disc brakes enhanced the stopping and ride ability of this mighty Packard. The entire interior is tastefully appointed with beautiful wood accents, soft tan leather trim, power windows, air conditioning and comfortable seats. To retain originality the dash was carefully restored using retro-style instrumentation and a beautiful wood rimmed banjo style steering wheel replaced the original. Many other unique features were retained, like the front fold-out window, bumper mounted running lights and on the rear rack is a shiny black retro style Packard trunk. This beautiful modernized classic is ready for scenic cruises, a cross country excursion or even the “Hot Rod Power Tour“. Travel in style and comfort in the stunning classic 1934 Packard Super Eight sedan.

Trans-Am (Trans-American Sedan Championship) racing started in 1966 and evolved out of SCCA amateur racing to professional level to allow all manufactures and European FIA certified cars to compete with GT cars here in the US. The classes were divided into two groups, under 2000cc displacement and over 2000cc’s, not to exceed 5 litres. The T70 is one of the most appealing competition cars of that era, driven by world renowned drivers like Dan Gurney, Mario Andretti, Parnelli Jones and John Surtees. They were even used as stunt cars during the filming of the 1970 Steve McQueen cult movie “LeMans“. The Lola T70 MKIIIB is a more aerodynamic version of the earlier MK III coupes. Today, vintage racing is a popular sport; Cars like Ford GT 40’s, Cobra’s, Chaparrals, Porsche’s, Ferrari’s and Lola’s are very much in demand. However there are not enough to go around so in 2005 Lola cars announced "an authentic and limited continuation series" of the original T70 MkIIIB. A US company, "Race Car Replicas" produces an authentic looking replica of the MkIIIB coupe using an aluminum monocoque chassis as in the case with this car. The power comes from a 350ci 500hp small block Chevrolet and transfers all that torque to the ground through a HEWLAND racing transmission. This car was originally constructed by Heritage Engineering in the UK during the late '80s as a MKII roadster (Roadster body and log book included), and ran with great success in the Retro Sports and GT championship with overall wins at Spa and Nurburgring against modern race machinery. Currently this car is race prepared by Heritage Motorsports of Clearwater FL. and continuously and successfully vintage raced and qualifies for HSR and SVRA Hawk Series.

1956 Mercedes Benz 190 SL

Lot # 251 (Sale Order: 50 of 87)

1956 Mercedes 190 SL • Original Survivor car! • Radio delete • 2nd year of production • Very complete car • Runs & drives very well for an all original car The 190 SL was originally conceived for the American market. It incorporated many advanced Mercedes-Benz engineering features. Powered by a single overhead-camshaft, four-cylinder engine, and equipped with four-wheel drum brakes, conventional doors, and a simple yet effective swing axle rear suspension, the 190 SL was best suited for stylish cruising rather than competition. The 190 SL demonstrated the successful niche that existed for Mercedes-Benz in the U.S., and elsewhere, as it provided comfortable, luxurious cruising with excellent road manners and stylish good looks. This lovely little 190 SL is claimed to be a true survivor and still wears its original color combination of ivory over red MB-Tex. The interior show some reasonable wear and tear (literally), some carpet fade, yet the interior and dash trim is complete right down to the original radio delete plate. This car runs and drives very well for an all original car.
