Japanese Type 14 Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol with Holster, #11114, 8x22 Nambu cal., 4.75" barrel, blued finish, blued small parts, large trigger guard that is misshapen at the front, drift adjustable inverted-"V" front sight, integral fixed rear sight with square notch, lanyard loop, and grooved wood grips. Receiver is marked "14 type" with Toriimatsu Factory of Nagoya Arsenal mark, frame dated "19.1" for Showa 19 (1944) January. All visible numbers matching except the magazines. Includes one blued magazine with zinc pot metal base that is only one number off the gun (113), and one nickel-plated magazine with a zinc pot metal base. Also includes a rubberized canvas hard shell holster with a cleaning rod inside. Pistol is very good showing a thinning late-war blued finish, with wear at the muzzle sides; spotting and freckling on the barrel, slide top, and frame sides. Front and rear grip straps show thinning to gray with wear to the rear of the slide and knurled cocking knob. Grips show age darkening, a few scratches, light dings, and one small chip missing at the lower edge of the right grip. Grip screws show wear to the finish and clean slots. Action and hold open function properly; bore is mostly bright with some areas of mild frosting. The blued magazine shows wear lines from use to the body, and light hairlines to the pot metal base. Nickel magazine shows age, light rust spots, and heavy cracking to the pot metal base. Holster is in good condition with a light brown colored surface, some cracking to the leather top flap hinge, missing a spring or two on the catch strap, has ink stamped markings inside the top flap. The flap for the ammo pouch is stuck from deterioration of the rubberized canvas. Holster has intact belt loops and black hanging rings, but no strap is present. Est.: $900-$1,200. (C&R)
