Measuring approx. 9' 6" long, faint serial numbers appearing on the rear of the cannon, numbers that are legible on the left side read "HP ? 24", "64" is legible on the r...moreight, barrel was drilled at one point with a rod through the bore 13" from the muzzle, rod has been removed and holes were welded shut, weld-filled holes are still visible, carriage assembly is a later-fabricated carriage made in the correct style, weight of cannon is believed to be 6,500 lbs. Consignor states that the cannon was recovered on the shoreline in New Jersey during a construction project, cannon shows expected age pitting and corrosion with oxidation down the bore. Includes 32 lb. cannon ball, as-found relic condition. NR
