***Auction Highlight*** 1853-o Variety-3 Gold Liberty Eagle $10 Graded Choice AU/BU Slider+ By USCG

Lot # 381 (Sale Order: 308 of 741)

***Auction Highlight*** 1853-o Variety-3 Gold Liberty Eagle $10 Graded Choice AU/BU Slider+ By USCG. The New Orleans Mint struck 51,000 eagles in 1853, almost all ...moreof which were distributed into circulation. Beginning in 1855, coinage of this denomination slipped even lower when California gold began to be processed at the newly operational San Francisco Mint, and gold deposits in New Orleans declined proportionately. Examples of this Gold Rush-era ten are available in most circulated grades, but Mint State pieces are extremely rare, and are unknown finer than MS61. This au58+ coin displays satiny yellow-gold luster and is surprisingly free of major abrasions; the surfaces instead show slight muting of the luster and scattered small ticks and a few lines -- nothing overly detracting or even noticeable to the unaided eye. A well-struck and pleasing example. This is the Variety 3, which can easily be spotted by the Crazy misplaced o in the shield. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1896-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded Select Unc PL By USCG (fc)

Lot # 383 (Sale Order: 310 of 741)

***Auction Highlight*** 1896-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded Select Unc PL By USCG. Up for auction is a coin which is rare in all grades and is unheard of in PL or DMPL....more We have never brought a PL or DMPL 1896-s to auction. To Quote Q. David Bowers “1896-S Morgan dollars are relatively common in lower grades from VG-8 up through VF-30. EF-40 pieces are elusive, and coins in the AU category are seldom seen. In Mint State, the 1896-S dollar is quite elusive. Most pieces are average strikes with average to above average luster. Others are lightly struck at the centers. Even lightly struck pieces are usually quite pleasing in appearance. Proof like 1896-S dollars are rare. DMPL coins are rarer yet. Most seen show heavy abrasions. The Redfield estate coins included DMPL specimens with prominent die polish lines, but as of September 1992 neither NGC nor PCGS had graded even one DMPL piece. The "Proof' offered by William & L. Pukall (The Numismatist 10/53) probably was a DMPL.” As of Today PCGS estimates that only 21 examples survive in PL. PCGS has graded 3 total examples and NGC has graded 3 as PL. Also to date PCGS has still not graded 1 example as DMPL. The coin at hand has very strong mirrored fields as can be seen in the photos. Those 6 1896-s Morgans have been at auction 8 times in the last 20 years. The lone au58 PL sold for $1495 back in 2004, and 3 ms62 PL examples went to the hammer in 2005, 2006, and 2010, The one in 2010 sold for $10,925. I have included a picture of that ms62, as well as the lone ms66, to illustrate the die file lines. The ms66 was the last sighting of a PL at auction in 2016, that is until today. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** US Fractional Currency 10c Third Issue fr-1254 Washington Rare Red Reverse G

Lot # 384 (Sale Order: 311 of 741)

***Auction Highlight*** US Fractional Currency 10c Third Issue fr-1254 Washington Rare Red Reverse Graded au58 PPQ By PMG. 0 Fractional or postage currency has a ric...moreh history. At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Golden Nugget 1918 Walker &

Lot # 391 (Sale Order: 318 of 741)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Golden Nugget 1918 Walker & 1901 Barber Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secure...mored a collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.
