Lot # 381 (Sale Order: 301 of 850)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Sahara 1907 Barber & 1941 Walker Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a col...morelection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii WWII Emergency Currency Rare PC Block Grades vf+

Lot # 391 (Sale Order: 310 of 850)

1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii WWII Emergency Currency Rare PC Block Grades vf+. The $1 Hawaii Note Came in 7 Blocks the SC Block Which is the most common, The...more LC, PC, CC, and YB Blocks are All equialy as rare but are much less common then the SC Block. Then there are the ZB and AC Blocks which are Very Rare. 1935a $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

***Auction Highlight*** 1852 D Dahlonega Gold Dollar $1 Graded ms62+ By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 392 (Sale Order: 311 of 850)

***Auction Highlight*** 1852 D Dahlonega Gold Dollar $1 Graded Select Unc By SEGS. Up for Auction is a Numismatic Rarity. A 1852-d Dahlonega $1 Gold. It Holds the Lone Sp...moreot at 2nd Finest Known behind the Elisburg Example. The only variety of the year. Struck from strongly clashed and lapped dies, as on all known examples. The diagnostic die scratch on the reverse past the second A in AMERICA is plainly visible. This is one of the best struck 1852-D gold dollars known. In spite of the fact that the dies had severely clashed, the details seen in the center of both obverse and reverse are extremely sharp, with full, individually defined curls on the head of Liberty, complete radial lines on the stars, and a sharp date.. The surfaces show no readily distinguishable abrasions, just a host of clash marks and roughness in the die as made. There are multiple clash marks in the left obverse field, but this coin appears to have been struck from a reasonably early die state. The luster is frosty and far above average for the issue. Most 1852-D gold dollars are worn to the point that little natural luster remains, and the higher grade examples that exist usually have a dull, grainy texture. On this piece, there are splashes of intense orange-gold color in center of the obverse and around the stars; the reverse shows deeper and somewhat more even color that is a bit darker in hue near the 1 in the denomination. The 1852-D has about 100 pieces known, with perhaps seven to nine of these grading Uncirculated. Nearly all of these survivors are in the MS60 to MS61 range A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1936 Norfolk Old Commem Half Dollar Near TOP POP! 50c Graded ms68+ By SEGS (

Lot # 396 (Sale Order: 315 of 850)

***Auction Highlight*** 1936 Norfolk Near TOP POP! Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms68+ By SEGS. The 1936 Norfolk Bicentennial Half Dollar was issued to commemorate t...morehe 200th anniversary of the establishment of Norfolk, Virginia as a borough. Both the obverse and reverse of the coins carry incredibly voluminous number of inscriptions, which dominate the design. At the center of the obverse is a reproduction of the Norfolk City Seal, which carries a ship plow and stocks of grain. Inscriptions are placed in three concentric circles surrounding this image. The inscriptions read “Borough of Norfolk Bicentennial”, “1936”, “City of Norfolk Virginia”, “Town 1682”, “Borough 1736”, “City 1845”, “Et Terra Et Mare Divitiae Tuae” (Both by Land and by Sea Thy Riches Are), and “Crescas” (Thou Shalt Grow). The reverse carries an image of the Royal Mace of Norfolk, which was presented by Lieutenant Governor Dinwiddie in 1753. The date “1636” appears at center with two floral sprays. As with the obverse, many inscriptions surround, reading “United States of America”, “Half Dollar”, “Norfolk Virginia Land Grant”, “In God We Trust”, “E Pluribus Unum”, and “Liberty”. Designs for the coin were prepared by William Marks Simpson and Marjorie Emory Simpson. This Commemorative marked an event of purely local interest, and realized poor sales at the time of issue. In the irony that often accompanies such initial failure, it is now among the Scarcer and More Costly Coins in the old commemorative series. This bill authorized the coining of not more than 25,000 half dollars, to be coined at a single mint and with a single design. The entire mintage of 25,013 Norfolk halves was coined in September at the Philadelphia Mint (the odd 13 pieces were reserved for assay and later destroyed). Points to check f

Military Payment Certificate (MPC) Series 591 5c Cents Grades xf+

Lot # 407 (Sale Order: 325 of 850)

Military Payment Certificate (MPC) Series 591 5c Cents Grades xf+. Military payment certificates, or MPC, were a form of currency used to pay U.S. military person...morenel in certain foreign countries. They were used in one area or another from a few months after the end of World War II until a few months after the end of U.S. participation in the Vietnam War – from 1946 until 1973. MPC utilized layers of line lithography to create colorful banknotes that could be produced cheaply. Fifteen series of MPCs were created. However, only 13 series were issued. The remaining two were largely destroyed, although some examples remain. Among the 13 released series a total of 94 notes are recognized.
