***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino The Mint 1944 Walker & 1954

Lot # 437 (Sale Order: 353 of 850)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino The Mint 1944 Walker & 1954 Franklin Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a...more collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

Military Payment Certificate (MPC) Series 641 10c Cents Grades xf+

Lot # 463 (Sale Order: 373 of 850)

Military Payment Certificate (MPC) Series 641 10c Cents Grades xf+. Military payment certificates for the series 641 were the first notes used in Vietnam; that is...more also the only country in which these were used. They were originally issued on August 31st, 1965. They were redeemed on October 21st, 1968. Military payment certificates, or MPC, were a form of currency used to pay U.S. military personnel in certain foreign countries. They were used in one area or another from a few months after the end of World War II until a few months after the end of U.S. participation in the Vietnam War – from 1946 until 1973. MPC utilized layers of line lithography to create colorful banknotes that could be produced cheaply. Fifteen series of MPCs were created. However, only 13 series were issued. The remaining two were largely destroyed, although some examples remain. Among the 13 released series a total of 94 notes are recognized.
