***Auction Highlight*** 1875-s/cc Trade Dollar FS-501 $1 Graded ms62 details By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 627 (Sale Order: 503 of 850)

***Auction Highlight*** 1875-s/cc FS-501 Trade Dollar $1 Graded ms62 details By SEGS. Population totals only 47 uncirculated s/cc dollars. Ms62 trends $14,000, cu...morerrently there is an unc details example for sale on collectors corner for $7000. An important condition rarity to represent this extremely popular trade dollar variety. Virtually Proof Like Surfaces. A superior strike has resulted in razor sharp definition that even extends to Liberty's head on the obverse and the lower portion of the reverse eagle. Simply put, this is a beautiful coin that would make an impressive addition to the finest cabinet. This elusive variety was unknown to the wider numismatic market until the early 1960s, when an example cataloged as "Brilliant Unc." appeared in the December 10-11, 1963 New Netherlands sale. Since that time two reverse dies of the 1875-S/CC have been identified, although not all that many Mint State examples of either have come to light. FS-501, represented here, is the more frequently encountered of the two varieties of this overmintmark. Even so, our offerings for circulated and Mint State coins combined can be counted on one hand in any given year of numismatic auction activity. As a solidly graded Mint State example, the coin offered here represents one of our finest offerings for the 1875-S/CC of all time.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Flamingo 1962 Franklin & 194

Lot # 645 (Sale Order: 520 of 850)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Halves Las Vegas Casino Flamingo 1962 Franklin & 1945 Walker Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a...more collection of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

***Auction Highlight*** 1851 “887” No “50” Augustus Humbert US Assay Office 50 Graded xf45 By SEGS (

Lot # 648 (Sale Order: 523 of 850)

***Auction Highlight*** 1851 “887” No “50” Augustus Humbert US Assay Office 50 Graded xf45 By SEGS. Parting acids were in short supply on the West Coast during the...more California Gold Rush, one of the reasons why the U.S. Assay Office in San Francisco initially struck slugs at a fineness of 880 Thous. or 887 Thous., instead of the Federal standard of 900 Thous. The 887 Thous. fineness continued into 1852, when the fineness was changed to 900 Thous. so that the ingots (as the pieces were then called) would be accepted by the Customs Office. This caramel-gold representative is nicely detailed and displays no more than the expected number of small marks. Listed on page 402 of the 2021 Guide Book. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
