***Auction Highlight*** 1875-cc BF-2 Twenty Cent Piece 20c Graded Select+ Unc By USCG (fc)

Lot # 311 (Sale Order: 302 of 763)

***Auction Highlight*** 1875-cc BF-2 Twenty Cent Piece 20c Graded Select+ Unc By USCG. A platinum-white Carson City double dime. The luster is rich and satiny thro...moreughout, with a subtle proof like reflectivity to the reverse fields courtesy of a healthy die polishing. The facade is angelic and unmarred by distracting abrasions of any sort, rendering this example a true jewel for both type collectors and twenty-cent piece enthusiasts. The eagles left wing is weak as is almost universally seen with the BF-2 Variety. The BF-2 has the shield tip pointing to the right side of the 1 and the cc tucked high. I have included 2 other examples, both ms63 for your comparison and to illustrate the weak left wing being near universal on the BF-2. Both examples are BF-2. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin

***Auction Highlight*** 1886-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded Select Unc By USCG (fc)

Lot # 318 (Sale Order: 309 of 763)

***Auction Highlight*** 1886-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded Select Unc By USCG. Melting under the Pittman Act, and perhaps other unknown factors, make the 1886-O condit...moreionally rare. By New Orleans standards, the mintage was large -- more than 10.7 million pieces were struck, yet no appreciable Mint sewn bags have materialized during the past 60 to 70 years. In Gem or finer conditions, no other Morgan dollar issue is rarer, based on the combined certified populations at PCGS and NGC. This untoned, frosty white Mint State example of this well known condition rarity is sure to please. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away Coin

***Auction Highlight*** 1909-s Gold Indian Half Eagle $5 Graded BU+ By USCG (fc)

Lot # 321 (Sale Order: 312 of 763)

***Auction Highlight*** 1909-s Gold Indian Half Eagle $5 Graded BU+ By USCG. Up for Auction is a Key date 1909-s $5 Gold Indian. Impressive and seldom offered in ...moreMint State this particularly challenging Indian half eagle issue is bathed in bright yellow gold patina, both sides are lustrous with a softly frosted finish from the dies. The strike is as usual for the date with some weakness observed on the Indians headdress and the eagles upper wing. The S mintmark fully formed and readily appreciable. A highlight of the 20th century half eagle offerings in our present sale, this lovely example is sure to see spirited bidding among advanced gold enthusiasts. I have included two other ms61 examples for your comparison. Note the upper wing and headdress on both these ms61 mint state examples. I am sure you will see ours is equal to or better than both. ***Auction Highlight*** 1878-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded Gem++ Unc By USCG (fc)

Lot # 322 (Sale Order: 313 of 763)

***Auction Highlight*** 1878-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded Gem++ Unc By USCG. Slightly better date. First year of issue. The initial striking took place at half past t...morehree in the afternoon of April 17. Former governor F.F. Low, mint officers, and the press were in attendance. San Francisco Mint superintendent Henry L. Dodge was Master of Ceremonies, and under his direction the coins were struck. Dodge placed the first planchet in the press, then presented the first struck coin to coiner Cicott. The second went to former governor Low, the third, fourth, and fifth to three ladies present, and others to different gentlemen present. Nearly one thousand coins were struck, when one of the dies broke. The press was stopped, and further coinage was suspended until the following day.David Bowers believes that the majority of the 1878-S dollar mintage was stored at the San Francisco Mint, to be paid out over a period of subsequent decades. Today slightly over 800 examples survive in grades above ms65.. A single MS68 piece, the ex. Jack Lee example, is the finest known, and the spectacular coin offered today is right behind it by half a point, tied for 2nd finest known.Immaculately preserved with a superb DMPL Obverse. An exacting strike imparts complete delineation to the design elements, and strongly frosted devices. Effusive luster complements these attributes, all of which synergistically result in elegant eye appeal. I have included an ms67 for your comparison. Note the number of abrasions on it and ours and I believe you will agree ours deserves the plus. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** Continental Currency May 10th, 1775 $8 Fr-CC8 Grades xf (fc)

Lot # 327 (Sale Order: 317 of 763)

***Auction Highlight*** Continental Currency May 10th, 1775 $8 Fr-CC8 Grades xf. The vignette of a thirteen-string harp. It is surrounded by the Latin motto, MAJOR...moreA MINORIBUS CONSONANT, which Newman translates as, "The large colonies and the small colonies are in harmony.". An emission totaling $3,000,000 payable in Spanish milled dollars, or the equivalent in gold or silver, was authorized by the Continental Congress resolution of May 10, 1775 and approved by resolutions of June 23-24 and July 25, 1775 and put into circulation in August. The money, for "The United Colonies", was to be used to pay war expenses and was to be redeemed from taxes collected by the colonies. The paper, made at Ivy Mills in Chester County, Pennsylvania, contained blue fibers and mica flakes and was similar to the type used on Pennsylvania currency. The exception was the unique $20 denomination which was printed on paper made by Benjamin Franklin (thin white paper that had the left side polychromed by marbling). This bill is also a different size from the other denominations. The bills were printed by Hall and Sellers in Philadelphia using border cuts, emblem cuts, nature prints and hand set type. Apparently, thirty six of the borders were designed and cut by David Rittenhouse. The bills were signed with red and brown ink and numbered in dark red ink. Counterfeit detectors were on pink paper except for the $20, which was on blue paper. Denominations printed were the: $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $6, $7, $8, $20 and $30.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 In Halves Stardust Hotel Las Vegas 1919 & 'P' Barber

Lot # 334 (Sale Order: 324 of 763)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 In Halves Stardust Hotel Las Vegas 1919 & 'P' Barber Ends. Up for auction is a Consignment I have secured a collect...moreion of old 1960’s Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadn’t as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. We estimate the rolls to be worth $2000 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.
