Lincoln Wheat cent 1c orig roll, 1909-s end, VDB other end

Lot # 440 (Sale Order: 427 of 529)

Lincoln Wheat cent 1c orig roll, 1909-s end, VDB other end. Lincoln Wheat cent 1c original Shotgun Roll, 1909-s on one end, VDB reverse on the other. The roll is h...moreeld in a Rare & Collectable McDonalds Brandt wrapper. Actual roll pictured is the roll you will get. A great original bank shotgun roll with very tight ends. From the feedback we have been receiving, people are happy with these rolls, nearly half the roll seems to be teens, all the rolls have a few Indians, most of the rolls have some steel cents, and a lot of the wheaties are mintmarks. These shotgun rolls are all from a new consignee. They are all frrom one Estate. This particular Roll shows a 1909-s on one end and a VDB reverse on the other end.

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 Silver City Casino Las Vegas 1923 & 'p' Barber ends

Lot # 442 (Sale Order: 429 of 529)

***Auction Highlight*** Old Casino 50c Roll $10 In Halves Silver City Casino Las Vegas 1923 Walker & 'p' mint Barber Ends. Up for Auction is a Consignment I have b...moreeen talking about for the last few months, and I have finally secured. I have secured a collection of old 1960Õs Las Vegas Casino Half Dollar Shot Gun Rolls from various Casinos. These Rolls contain 20 Half Dollars. They have tight ends and are wild!. I opened three rolls to examine the contents and what I found was mostly Circulated Walkers, a few Franklins and a Seated coin or two and a couple of Barbers. But after I opened the rolls, I wished I hadnÕt as they were so cool as antique Las Vegas Half Rolls. I have only seen a handful of these ever. The consignee has given us some additional rolls. I have put 3 in each of the Independence auctions. We estimate the rolls to be worth $500-$700 each as a collectable antique, but if the roll is opened and has a rare date, who knows the value, a 1921 Walker even in low grade is worth over $500, and several other dates are worth over $200 each. But who knows, maybe a rare 1878-s Seated is inside. ($35k in g4), or an 1892-o Barber ($5k in G4). In any event the rolls themselves are amazing collectibles of a bygone era of the Rat pack and Las Vegas. From the rolls we have received there are 10 different casinos. Good Luck.

***Auction Highlight*** 1885-s vam 1A Morgan Dollar $1 Graded GEM+ Unc BY uSCG (fc)

Lot # 451 (Sale Order: 438 of 529)

***Auction Highlight*** 1885-s vam 1A Morgan Dollar $1 Graded GEM+ Unc BY uSCG. Brilliant silver white surfaces are sharply struck, highly lustrous and silky smoot...moreh in appearance. The 1885-S is among the scarcer San Francisco Mint Morgan dollars in Mint State, although in an absolute sense the issue is easy to collect in grades up to and including MS-64. At and above the Gem level, however, the conditionally challenging nature of this issue comes readily to the fore. A mere 5 examples are graded MS-66+ or MS-67 by PCGS, making this example one of the finest known. This is the nicest example that we can recall handling, and it is worthy of the strongest bids A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1917-s Buffalo Nickel 5c Graded GEM+ Unc BY uSCG (fc)

Lot # 452 (Sale Order: 439 of 529)

***Auction Highlight*** 1917-s Buffalo Nickel 5c Graded GEM+ Unc BY uSCG. Up for Auction id a superb, 1917-s, A full strike sets this coin apart from the vast majo...morerity of survivors of this 4,193,000-piece issue. This impressive strike and condition rarity is sure to catch the eye of astute Buffalo nickel enthusiasts. According to David W. Lange (2006), "a relatively small number of [1917-S] coins may be found that are extremely well struck." He explains that such examples were from dies that "were simply unworn and closely set within the press, the ideal situation for any coining operation but one that was seldom maintained with respect to Buffalo nickels." This Premium Gem features sharp definition on the Indian's hair braid and the bison's head and tail. Each side offers gorgeous, flashy luster.. A few small clash marks and die cracks appear throughout. This example is among the Finest Known. Tied for 6th Finest. Now I have included a picture of a Gem ms65 by PCGS for your comparison, please note its weak strike and numerous contact arks in ms65 Gem. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

Lot # 456 (Sale Order: 443 of 529)

***Auction Highlight*** 1916-s Gold Indian Half Eagle $5 Graded Select Unc BY uSCG. The 1916-S marks the final half eagle coinage from the San Francisco Mint, and ...moreit is the only issue for the year from any mint for this denomination. A moderate mintage of 240,000 pieces was accomplished, although few pieces survive in high Uncirculated grades. Each side shimmers with frosty original luster and warm prairie-gold hues. The lower headdress feathers exhibit the only mentionable strike weakness, and abrasions are at a minimum for the grade. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away Coin

*Highlight Of Entire Auction* 1796 BB-65 Small Eagle Draped Bust $1 Graded Select AU+ USCG (fc)

Lot # 458 (Sale Order: 445 of 529)

***Auction Highlight*** 1796 BB-65 Small Eagle Draped Bust Dollar $1 Graded Select AU+ By USCG. Highlight of the entire auction. Up for Auction is a superb select...more Almost Uncirculated example. Stunning Patina. It is the BB-65, Large Date Small Letters Variety of this Rare Draped Bust, Small Eagle Early Dollar. The only Large Date variety for the year. The 6 in the date is repunched, and a prominent die break nearly joins IC in AMERICA. It is the Bowers Die State II. A lovely and sharply defined Draped Bust Dollar with rich tan-gray and lavender patina. The majority of the feathers on the eagle's breast are clear, and there are no abrasions worthy of mention. Pleasing AU pieces are few and far between, and only 4 survive in uncirculated condition. One of the Finest Known! I wish you good Luck in Obtaining this centerpiece coin. I will note that he last au53 to sell at Heritage was in 2004, and realized $27,600. The au55 that sold in 2020 sold for $25,200. I think our example is between these two in condition, but ours is much more attractive patina and surface wise than either. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1955/1955 DDO Lincoln Cent 1c Graded Choice Unc RB BY uSCG (fc)

Lot # 460 (Sale Order: 447 of 529)

***Auction Highlight*** 1955/1955 DDO Lincoln Cent 1c Graded Choice Unc RB BY uSCG. Delicate golden-olive toning blends with dominant orange-apricot and reddish-li...morelac colors on both sides of this vivid example. The softly frosted surfaces have survived the passage of time with no more than a few trivial blemishes. Solidly in the Choice Mint State category, this lovely coin is well suited for an advanced Lincoln cent set or a specialized collection of 20th century U.S. Mint error coinage. If numismatists and non-collectors alike are asked what is the most famous error or variety of American coin, odds are the 1955 Doubled Die Obverse would be among the first mentioned. When the dies for the 1955 cents were being produced, one was given two blows from the hub, but the second blow was out of register, causing the devices to show up as two distinct impressions, most plain in the lettering and date. Despite the clear doubling on the die, it went unnoticed and the coins were pressed into service. To compound the original error, the dies were placed roughly 5% out of normal alignment with each other, a subtle and often overlooked feature of all genuine specimens. About 40,000 cents were struck before a Mint employee noticed the defect and removed the die from service and had the coins currently in a hopper behind the press destroyed. However, only about 20,000 pieces were in that bin; roughly 24,000 cents had already been removed and mixed into several bags with coins produced from other presses. The Mint figured that little notice would be paid and sent them out to the Federal Reserve Banks for distribution. The sacks of coins with the 1955 Doubled Die cents went primarily to Boston, as well as Western Massachusetts and the towns of Endicott, Johnson City, and Binghamton in New York State. Among these, a number became "cigarette pack" cents; a pack of cigarettes cost 23¢, so two cents would be placed in the cellophane wrapper with the cigarette pack as change for a quarter. Initially the coins entered circulation unnoticed as the Mint had hoped, but soon the coins came to the attention of Q. David Bowers and Jim Ruddy of the Empire Coin Company in Johnson City. The rush was on and the 1955 Doubled Die Obverse cent became a numismatic legend. In a fascinating postscript to the story, in 2010 Richard Snow discovered an unquestionably genuine specimen with surface marks that bear the tell-tale signs that the obverse die was removed from the press to remove clash marks. This suggests that not only did the die enter use, but it was later removed, abraded to remove clash marks, then put back into service, even with the plainly visible doubling. Despite its fame, the 1955 Doubled Die Obverse still has some secrets to tell. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
