WELCOME TO THE AUCTION

Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 1 of 2199)

Just to Reiterate from our terms and conditions: I do my best to estimate the grade/condition of the coins, but please note, unless specifically mentioned in the descrip...moretion, I do not guarantee grade or condition. I DO ALWAYS GUARANTEE 100% AUTHENTICITY, on an immediate buyback including any premium paid. But please understand, if you win a coin and receive it and send it out to one of the grading companies and it comes back graded less than I estimated or "genuine but Ungradeable", we will not buy back that coin. No refunds will be issued. Please understand this and look at the large pictures and make your own decision on the grade/condition. I do my best to give you my best estimate and your repeat attendance at my auctions is what I strive for, so I always attempt to give my best description/estimate of the coins being auctioned.

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 6 of 2199)

1943 State of Baden, Germany 10,000 Marks Local Notgeld Banknote P#?S910 Grades Choice AU/BU Slider. Notgeld is German for "emergency/necessity money". Notgeld typ...moreically refers to German and Austrian notes produced in the post-WWI period. Somewhat similar to Depression Scrip in the USA, these notes were issued when there wasn'te nough state-produced money available from the central bank. Issuing institutions were often a town's savings banks, municipalities, or private or state-owned firms. Nearly all issues contained an expiry date, after which time they were invalid. Issues without dates ordinarily had an expiry announced in a newspaper or at the place of issuance.

1922 Germany (Weimar Republic) 5000 Marks Post-WWI Hyperinflation Banknote P# 81a Grades Select AU

Lot # 16 (Sale Order: 15 of 2199)

1922 Germany (Weimar Republic) 5000 Marks Post-WWI Hyperinflation Banknote P# 81a Grades Select AU. In the early 1920s, post-WWI Germany saw its economy spiraling ...moreout of control. Hyperinflation started directly after the war in 1918, but truly took over the Weimar Republic from 1921 to 1923. The value of the Mark declined incredibly rapidly. 1 USD was equal to 50 German Marks at the beginning of 1920. Toward the end of 1923, 1 USD was equal to over 4,200,000,000,000 German Marks. At times, denominations of the Mark became less valuable than the paper and labor to print it almost immediately after printing. Thus, denominations of the Mark notes became incredibly large, ending up in the tens of trillions.
