Original sealed 1960 United States Mint Proof Set Tennessee Valley Hoard

Lot # 328 (Sale Order: 328 of 3000)

Original sealed 1960 United States Mint Proof Set Tennessee Valley Hoard. Once in a lifetime collection We are proud to bring to auction the greatest proof collec...moretion of the late 1950s and early 1960s. This collection may contain some of the only unopened mega boxes of unopened proof sets still in existence. In all my years in numismatics I have never seen a collection like this one. Finding cameo and deep cameo proofs from this era is near impossible u less you pay full retail and buy them already holdered. All of the sets at coin shows have been examined and have virtually no cameos. The only way to get the same odds of finding one of these valuable cameos is to buy an unopened set. Many sets today that are purported to be unopened have a actually been opened and resealed or put into a fresh envelope and sealed. This 100% original lot is guaranteed to be unopened from the day it left the mint. We will cover your laboratory costs and pay you 10x your cost of the set if the carbon dating on this set shows that the glue is not from the late 1950s 1960s. A true once in a lifetime opportunity

1x 1928 $10 Small Size Gold Certificate Grades VF/XF

Lot # 332 (Sale Order: 332 of 3000)

1x 1928 $10 Small Size Gold Certificate Grades VF/XF. In 1928, the U.S. Government introduced small-size bank notes to save money on expensive, custom-made bank-no...morete paper. The first small-size Gold Certificate was the Series of 1928 $10 bill. Denominations started at $10, and went up to ten thousand dollars!Gold Certificates were backed by Gold Dollar coins or gold bullion held in the United States Treasury. Until 1934, holders of the notes could actually exchange them for the gold. Gold certificates were withdrawn from circulation along with all gold coins and gold bullion as required by the Gold Reserve Act of 1934. Gold certificates circulated until December 28, 1933. That is when the President ordered private owners of gold certificates to deliver their notes to the Treasurer of the United States by midnight on January 17, 1934. It was then illegal to hold gold certificates. C. Douglas Dillon, the 57th Secretary of the Treasury, removed the restrictions on the acquisition or holding of these notes on April 24, 1964.It is a legal tender $10 bill that once circulated alongside other types of paper currency, including green seals, red seals and blue seals. 1928 is the only year set you can acquire with all four colors.Unlike today’s notes printed in green, the Treasury seal and serial numbers are gold. The phrase “In God We Trust” does not appear on this note; it was first added to bills in 1956. The front features the familiar portrait of Alexander Hamilton that is still used on today’s $10 bills.

Disney's Mickey Mouse and Donald DuckAnimators Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks came up with the idea for Mickey Mouse in 1928. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was a character that Disney had previously created, but after losing the rights to him, he chose to create a new character. The two animators developed Mickey Mouse who then appeared in his first animated feature, "Plane Crazy," which was released in May 1928. Despite this movie's lack of success, Disney released a second Mickey movie called "The Gallopin' Gaucho" later in the year.It wasn't until November 1928 that Mickey's third motion picture, "Steamboat Willie," finally achieved major box office success. The movie synchronized sound with the animation, which was unusual at the time and contributed greatly to Mickey's growing fame. Since then, Mickey has made over 130 film appearances and has become one of the most recognizable and adored characters in the entire world. In 1934, Walt Disney Productions created a new character named Donald Duck. Animator Clarence Nash designed the character and then voiced him by making a series of quacking noises. Donald's first appearance came in June 1934 in the motion picture "The Wise Little Hen." Donald, like Mickey, rose to fame and has made numerous appearances in movies, television series and other forms of media.Mickey and Donald have shared screen time in multiple Disney productions over the years. They are often presented as close friends and are well-known for their pranks and antics. Mickey is frequently depicted as the more responsible and level-headed of the two, while Donald has a fiery temper and is prone to irrational outbursts. Despite their differences, they are often shown to be loyal friends who care deeply for each other.

1927-p Peace Dollar Near Top Pop $1 ms65+ SEGS

Lot # 339 (Sale Order: 339 of 3000)

1927-p Near Top Pop Peace Dollar $1 ms65+ SEGS. The 27-p is the big sleeper of numismatics in my opinion. It has the 2nd lowest mintage in the whole Peace dollar series...more. Lower than the 34-s, the 21-p, yet it does not command its proper value. Good coin to own multiple of and save, in my opinion, but if you've been coming to our auctions for a while you will have seen that this has always been my opinion.

1908-p Gold Indian Quarter Eagle Near Top Pop! $2 1/2 ms66+ USCG

Lot # 340 (Sale Order: 340 of 3000)

1908-p Near Top Pop! Gold Indian Quarter Eagle $2 1/2 ms66+ USCG. The first-year-of-issue 1908 Indian five dollar was saved in greater numbers than following ye...morears, giving it a second reason for type collectors to chase nice examples. This Premium Gem is among the few nicest survivors, displaying bright mint luster over antique-gold surfaces that are free of marks in any of the prime focal areas. he strike is uniformly bold throughout both sides, another plus that collectors will appreciate. A Key Date's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
